You really believe those numbers? Nobody in my area knows anyone that died of clovid, but people know people who had serious issues or even died shortly after the vax. A positive PCR test doesn’t mean sh1t and can’t be the tool for establishing the cause of death.

oh i saw it and its tragic......but its still less than 0.00005% of vaccinations have caused an issue........and that is still less than 0.025% of the deaths caused from covid.  no medicine is free from risks,  shit, too much water will kill you.  the relity is that you are still more likely to die from covid than you are from the vaccine......faaaar more likely, and that doesn't include long covid symptoms either

That said, as "evidence" we were in a lethal pandemic, he posted about two deaths in Oregon, one of whom had underlying disease.

Oregon only has OVER FOUR MILLION PEOPLE. Must be a deadly plague sweeping for two people to die in the same week, last year.

I believe I was replying to a question I was asked as to how many people I personally knew who died from COVID.  I knew two people, one of who did not live in Oregon. One was an in-law, and the other was a former co-worker.

Between March 2020 and today there have been 7,842 COVID deaths, with and without comorbidities. There are 822,929 confirmed cases. This is approximately 178 deaths for every 100,000 people. Oregon has the seventh lowest death rate per capita.

Keep in mind that not every case of COVID is reported. All 6 of us in the house had COVID and did not report it. We used home tests.

You are right about Oregon's population which currently is 4.25 million.

Doesn't matter.  Under normal vaccine development processes, 50 adverse reactions shuts it down.

Couple that with the mantra from our the gov't and medical professionals that the vaccine is "perfectly safe" and it's no wonder there are trust issues.

They should have communicated honestly.

Where are you getting this from? Every regulated medicine has the potential for adverse reactions- even aspirin. I have never heard of a prohibition being tied to a  static number as opposed to a percentage.

And that 30k death number is the cumulative deaths of everyone who has gotten the vaccine. Nowhere does it say it's a result of adverse reactions from the vaccine.  It was a vaccine that was initially targeted at an older, vulnerable population.

It's definitely disingenuous. I'm not convinced that Matthew Yglesias tweet is legit. For a few reason- one of them being that "jab" isn't typically used by someone who supports vaccines.

The angle he's trying to take of  "those fights were rarely started by those of us who hadn't been vaccinated" is not accurate.
