X2. Damaged goods. Great for upsetting the establishment but own worst enemy in other regards. DeSantis would make a far more polished, professional POTUS. Just from an outside perspective and my opinion means shit even though I love the USA as a country and am dismayed at how far its fallen politically since the 90's
I have to agree, Trumps ego is still out of control and he’s not getting any younger. It will be exhausting having him in the news again 24/7 “Trump said this he said that.” he was his own worst enemy when it came to providing these freaks with ammo.

Fetterclone is coming to the G&O to show the entire board his TDfS obsession.  Must not be paying attention to the original post where it was noted I posted by mistake.

But don't let that stop you from your usual irrelevant off topic replies.  Because.... what else do you have?  Nothing.

I think the lack of any colored "wave" shows what i've always thought - 80-90% of this country is more centrist, and that neither has a political party that truly represents all their values.

Both flawed in many respects.

I still hold onto that the Democrats have lost their fucking minds since 2016, but there's some shitty Rs out there too.

The red wave turned out to be a pink drip.

Trumpy sitting in Mar-A-Lardo with egg on his face when most of his picks didn't pan out.  Some he is trying his best to distance himself from.

DeSantis emerged highly polished, stronger than ever, with numbers that Trumpy can only dream of.  Proving that he is more than a threat to Trumpy 2024 and is positioned to win the she-bang.  (yay!)  Of course Trumpy knows this and has been up to his usual bullshit infantile tactics towards DeSantis lately.  No surprise.  Getting busted in yet another lie (can't keep track of them all)..  kind of backfired about him trying to take credit for helping DeSantis with federal agencies when it was stated 'Bogus,' 'ridiculous,' and 'made-up crap': DOJ veterans throw cold water on Trump's claim that he 'sent in the FBI' to help Ron DeSantis.  But hey... he can still release bad info that no one else knows about regarding Ron and his wife.   ::)

Trumpy gets stuck with a watchdog monitor over his Trump (Con) business and throws a hissy fit about it.  (Along with all the hissy fits he throws about everything else.

Trumpy also decides to quickly settle the assault case against him because he knows going to court is going to result in a foot up his ass.

In a dazzling display of intelligence, Trumpy says his defamation and libel against E. Jean Carroll was purposely done because it the best interests of the country now has a potential second lawsuit against him due to his Truth postings.  Trumpy urged the District of Columbia’s highest local court to adopt his argument that he was acting in the interests of the American people when he made allegedly defamatory remarks while denying a rape claim by New York author E. Jean Carroll.

The court just punched the Trumpy attorneys in their mouths and fined/penalized them for the bullshit Hillary lawsuit.

And top it all off... poor Tiffany is getting married this weekend and will have to suffer through Trumpy making himself and his lies the center of attention when he gives his little toast/speech.

Now chime in with the usual excuses, deflection, spin, lies, TDfS and off topic comment posts where you have to say something no matter how irrelevant.

*edit* move this to political forum.

I suspect the real reason the Republicans didn’t do well is that people smell the economy is bad and Democrats tend to be more in favor of handouts.

Aside from my earlier post, the Republicans didn’t hit the open boarders hard enough and the damage it’s caused.

I think people usually vote out the ruling party whenever the economy is bad. I think Republicans should have focused more on economy and less on abortions.

I can't believe the topic of abortions has the grip that it does on the mind of the American public.

Think of how very few people it affects.

Think about yourself and the people in your life.... how many have had an abortion? How many are likely to have an abortion? Its something that just does not affect my day to day life to a degree that it influences how I vote.

Crime, economy, borders, then to a lesser extent  national security, foreign affairs.

Things like transgenders in sports and abortions, while frustrating, controversial topics, just dont affect my life at all. And even if those issues played a bigger role in my life- I don't think its worth 4 more years of useless social programs, skyrocketing crime rates and a plummeting economy.

Women, especially young ones, have been brainwashed into thinking this is the most important issue when in reality it almost certainly won’t have an effect on them one way or the other.

This - and if they thought about it practically, they'd see the light.

Young women have a far greater chance now of being the victim of a crime in NYC now, and the effects of that are far worse than the premise that may have to drive further than they'd like to get an abortion.

Shapiro claimed only single women were militarized by abortion but that they're a meaningful block due to erosion of the institution of marriage.

Marriage is one of those right wing talking points that misses the target for me, as is abortion. They're promoting government involvement in your life when the correct position is not having the government involved in your romantic or reproductive life. It's not the government's place to legalize or illegalize any of it. They simply don't belong there.

If conservatives are going to keep making the small government/ no tyranny argument, they have to acknowledge that means not using government to muscle people into alignment with conservative values.

Rogan, who claimed to vote Libertarian in at least the last two elections, never had this lightbulb come on over his head while debating Walsh about gay marriage.

Both of them took it as given that the government is making the decisions so the argument is about what decisions the government should make.

By what right does the government have a goddamn thing to say? Justify their involvement before debating anything else.

Just to illustrate.

Republicans: We need to steer the ship right.

Democrats: We need to steer the ship left.

A Libertarian: Wtf are you doing on my boat?

It came down to the Republican voters (and voters in general) just getting tired of the nonstop Trumpy dumpster fire and rigged election claims.

The GOP is slowly waking up to see the noose around their necks that is because of Trumpy.

The was the most winnable midterms in recent history and they blew it because of one infantile liar that they couldn't or wouldn't muzzle.

But the shitshow of Maricopa County defies explanation. It was like 68% counted on the evening of election day but somehow it's still not done. And it's Kari Lake.

I theorize this is by design in order to invite accusations of fraud.

You'd think it would be on Arizona to explain why they suck so bad but I guess we're not supposed to ask that.

Las Vegas too.  How the fuck does EU countries like France have results by the end of the night, but we have states that can't get shit done for days or weeks?  Fuck, we used to and still do in some places count by hand and we'd have the results that night or the next day at the latest.   Now we have ballot counting processors and/or fully computerized voting machines that may or may not be hooked to the internet :-\ and it takes longer, and produces less faith in the election process,  I thought technology was supposed to make things faster and more accurate? ???

Fuck, my grandma's could crochet a blanket faster than some of these states can count ballots.....and their blankets would be more accurately done.   Miss u grandma's! :'(

Mexico has a better system than the USA. They require real ID with thumbprint verification.

Everything should be electronic and instant.

ID required.

We can track a credit card purchase anywhere on the planet, but they think it will be challenging to electronically track votes.

And Trump is damaged goods, needs to disappear into the night and let someone else take over. As i've said many times on here, he swung the pendulum so far to the right, that many people are seeing the counter to that. Every action has a reaction.

I just listened to this tonight and thought Walsh's argument on this topic was weak.

I've only seen him in video clips where he's looked very smart and somewhat funny.

But the more I was hearing on this podcast, the less impressed I was.  I stopped at the marriage convo, will continue the rest tomorrow.

The government has it's hands in so many pot's now it's scary.

Gender
Abortion
Vaccinations
Insurance
Education

None of it has to do with the safety or security, financial or otherwise, of the voting public. In fact it's all meant to fleece the public. They are inducing mass psychosis via their corporate wars. The purpose is nothing other than to line their own pockets and hold on to their offices- by any means necessary as we have seen over the last few years.

Normally I don't quote George Carlin but I will now: "It's a big fucking club and you're not in it"

It just goes around and around.

I didn't mind that the conservative Christian has his definition of things. Joe came at it like a Democrat. It just never occurred to him to ask the Libertarian question. What happens with this problem if the government just stops being involved?

He's claimed to have voted for Johnson and Jorgensen. They're not my brand, but still. From a guy who votes LP and gripes about the government being too much in our lives, seems like it would have been his first question.
