My plan exactly bro,but at 67 if I enter the Masters Nats next year,I give up a lot of years, so....I`ll wait a year, compete at 69 then do the over 70 the next year

Bernie Cooper has nothing on me!  LOL  ;D.

People think most  of those guys look terrible but I`m not your average Huckleberry Hound.....I feel I look pretty damn good for my age and I know I can do well without embarassing myself.

I look a lot younger than I am, and have no loose skin at all.

The best thing I've done training wise is to switch over to calisthenics.  Instead of benching I do a set of 50 pushup and 50 dips daily. Chest is better( at 65) then when I was 28 and juiced.  Sit ups pull ups freehand squats also daily, in addition  to daily  light weight training ( mike van wyck style) in the evenings. Seven days a week..hey it works for me. I started training in 1975 and wish I'd trained this way sooner.   When I was younger I'd constantly put more weight on the bar, but the gains didn't come with more weight..they came with daily pump sets

A lot us who lifted in those days made the same mistakes.  Unless you were lucky enough to be at a gym with proper teachers, etc, the information wasn't there.

All we did in the 80s/90s was train heavy.  All the time.  No cycling, no mobility, no nothing - just trying to lift as much as possible.

Good for you that you've adapted and switched it up.

You did no free weights at all for your chest. Just cable and machine work the hammer was as close as you came to actual free weights. And you guys say I don't train hard I have a torn pec 3 shoulder surgeries and still do barbell bench press

Am I the only one having a hard time believing you have great chest development at 65 from 50 pushups and dips a day?

hahahaha you are aware your pecs have no idea if you are using a machine or a bar?

Intensity is the only factor required to get a muscle to respond

In fact you can work an individual muscle harder with a machine as it takes out the requirement to stabilise the weight
