I broke a fucking rib!

I can`t win for losing,I get to looking good again after doing zippo for 5 whole years, then BOOM,the Gall Bladder setback,not to mention Lung Cancer.....I fell on glare ice yesterday,thought I fucked up the vertabrae in my neck as I heard a cracking sound,but it turns out I have calcium deposits there as well as arthritis in that area because of it......BUT I broke a fucking rib.....A FUCKING RIB !! 

This is the fifth rib I`ve broken in my life.

Changes nothing.....going on a cycle soon,competing next year in several contests, then the  Masters Nats after that.

Just rest dave and limited movement that causes undue pain as far as i know.

If you laugh,cough,sneeze or have an oragam its insanely painful.......your body feels like a paper bag full of broken glass.

So how do you fix a broken rib?!

I assume it's not like placing a cast on a broken arm!

Or does a bone doc somehow get the broken parts shoved into the correct mending   position without the need of any form of surgery nor a rib-bone cast?

This is one subject I ain't an expert on and most likely only a previous rib bone breaker can elaborate on.

Thank  you my friend....no real way to fix it Bill,just rest......they don`t wrap  them anymore.

This is nothing compared to when I broke the four ribs....it hurts but no comparison.
