I recently read an article about the shelf life of eggs. For the most part, when refrigerated, it is much longer than the carton suggests. So, go ahead and buy those large cartons of eggs because they will be safe to eat for quite awhile. One thing to consider is how long it took the carton of eggs to get to the store. If you can, buy your eggs from a farm. They are bound to be much fresher and it follows they will last a lot longer.

Thanks, Papa Prime. I used to have 6 chickens and a turkey, so I was getting some beautiful egg production, but they’ve been picked off one by one the past two years. Two by raccoons, two by bobcats and one by shotgun blast courtesy of me (suffering chicken that was stroked out). Now the only survivors have PTSD and don’t produce shit!
