Francis Ngannou is free of the UFC. They couldn't come to a deal, even with the one offered, making him the highest paid.
So the belt is vacant and the Jon and Ciryl will be fighting March 4th. Who you got?

I wish it wasn't Ciryl. I Like him. Jones will be looking to mark his territory in the heavyweight division. And use Gane to it.

Great fight for Jones, in my opinion. I don't really get the Gane hype. He's technically gifted, but often a little gun-shy and lacks serious power. I think it will be competitive but Jones will hurt him.

I respectfully disagree with you in that I totally get the Gane hype. He looks like the naturally bigger version of Jon Jones. I'll roll with Cyril in this one. Jones arguably lost his last 2 fights at light heavy. Has been inactive for 3 years. Will be carrying 40-50lbs more weight and is getting on in years. That being said if Jones pulls it off, he will unquestionably be the GOAT. It would be similar to Sugar Ray Leonard coming back after 5 years and defeating Marvin Hagler.

Financially this is huge for Francis. He can get huge one off paydays from Bellator, PFL, ONE and BKFC. Setting up a loss to Tyson Fury and a 25 million dollar payday. Fuck the UFC. They paid the heavyweight champion of the world (Francis) only 600k to defend his title injured against the number 1 contender. Pitiful.

Good point regarding Jones's inactivity and age - I do agree, and it will be huge for the UFC and his legacy if he pulls it off. I'll be happy to be proved wrong if Gane wins. He seems like a great ambassador and there's no denying Jones is a piece of shit. I just think he lacks the spite of Jones and won't hit hard enough to be a real threat. Still, he's a big guy and he's precise with shots. It's going to be a good one!

Jon Jones is the fighter that drew me into watching MMA. He was amazing. Head and shoulders above the rest. The game has evolved and started catching up to him 4 years ago. He probably should have lost his fights against Thiago Santos and Dominick Reyes and we've seen what came of those two in the immediate aftermath of the Jones fight. Going back to the first fight against Gus, he got touched up pretty good there too. I thought he edged it but people whose opinions I respect had him losing that fight as well. Now, after more than 3 years out of action and having gained 50 pounds you don't think Gane is even competitive with him. I'm starting to think that pig Clegg dropped you on your head too many times.

If judged properly, Reyes beat Jones.

Jones is still amazing, don't get me wrong. But the UFC is like the IFBB, and has a bad way of giving it to the champion no matter what.
