He definitely looks mentally ill here

John Litte lol

Add it to the pile of useless crap he's written, next to the Mike Mentzer hagiographies about how his idol was a misunderstood genius out to clean up the fitness industry cesspit and not a mentally ill pseudo-intellectual contrarian

I'll give Manfred this, he didn't stick around trying to Al Bundy it. Randall Strossen of Ironmind was a bit of a Hoeberl schmoe, and kept up with him. Still strong with grip stuff, but no love for any of the other strength stuff -

Mike might have been a natural contrarian, but I always perceived him as genuine at least; like he really believed what he said, false or not. Some of the things he said were unscientific when looked at today but the Arthur Jones/early Mike Mentzer brief but intense workouts seem to still be about the best we have today for bodybuilding, imho of course. The very late workouts with just holding a weight for a number of seconds in the shortened position for one set every two weeks went quite a bit over the logical line for me. Although he said this one set extension workout added slabs of muscle on either David or Peter Paul. I can actually believe that still since if you start something like this clean from hormones you can gain back muscle at a tremendous rate hopping back on with minimal lifting. He somehow applied Ayn Rand's philosophy to lifting in a way that didn't seem appropriate LOL. John Little had that partial shortened position program where he argued for how superior it was by how much more total weight you moved per workout. Totally misguided. If he'd said train in the lengthened position only that might have had some merit :D

Mike did make me think "critically" in my early teen years. There was nothing better then IMO :D

Manfred was able to lose his arms, which is good. The fella in the promuscle thread thinks it's permanent in his case pretty much. All scar tissue.

Haha some of my friends say I'm soo gullible! Easy to fool. They laugh as they say this so I'm not sure how serious LOL. May be true so I try to think critically, "check your sources" and all that crap. I'm 48 and my nephew is 21 and when he visits he always says what propaganda are you watching now and I answer I try not to take anyone's word for something just like that, and then would he please give me an 'unbiased' or 'objective' source! And I always point out that just because I watch something it doesn't mean I believe it. But like I always say on here, there are no strictly objective sources of anything, especially with news and such :D 8) Another long winded reply but I desperately try to preempt misunderstandings.
