Maybe it was a combination of good longevity genetics (despite the weight) and the fact he has a budgie fancier - that's got to be good for the nerves, no?  I always enjoyed the image of such a big man tenderly looking after his brood  :)

Taffin - being a UK man yourself, did you see what I did there?:

Wow! Good on him for living so long whilst carrying that much mass for ages. Geoff always struck me as a good bloke - and he said he will compete at World's Strongest Man again if the money's right.  :)

Give Geoff a fortnight, and he could come down a few stones, I'm sure.

Bob Hoskins only made 71. Bob was a mate of yours, wasn't he?

It's strange to me that some people are so resilient, yet others drop dead abusing themselves half or a quarter as much.

Regardless...I fear for everyone's health!

We don't use these words in Canada.  ;D

Thank you for this analysis. I can only add to the sentiment by pointing out he brought a woman who is supposedly his wife (but who he has never put in the public view before) looking sad and concerned in order to play that heart string and get sympathy busine$$ by manipulation of the masses

His wife has appeared in many of his videos as have his kids.

I know I've seen her in videos before...when dunkin donuts said Brian hasn't put her in the public view before, I wondered if perhaps I saw Keri Shaw only in Strongman documentaries or other videos, not posted by Shaw.

But no. You are absolutely correct - Brian has featured his wife in social media before, so dunkin donuts was mistaken on this point.

Bacteria constantly evolves to survive.
Over-use of anti-biotics is like over-using pesticides.
Insects evolve to survive.  A pesticide kills 98% of the insects.
The 2% that survive pass on their resistance to the pesticide.
The pharm companies are in a never-ending battle against new bacterial strains.

Also - thank you for this information, IroNat!

Do you remember 2x WSM winner called Geof Capes from the UK
Geof is now 73 & probably for the last 30yrs has weighed upwards of
350lbs & hardly been in a gym to do any kind of training himself.

Worry not for others more so if not family or Friends.  :)

I understand that completely.

It does upset me that he isn't really showing any regard for his sons having a dad around/alive for very long.

In one video [maybe around 2015-2017, when one of his sons was still a toddler], he said that he wanted to have achievements that his son could look up to. This was probably when he only had one son, when he was only maybe two years old.

I was thinking to myself...does Shaw even grasp that he probably won't make 50 if he continues like this? What would the over/under for Shaw's lifespan be at this point? Maybe 55?

That upset me a little. Just being a dad myself [I have four kids to feed - ages 14, 13, 8, and 5, and hopefully, I'll have another one within a few years].

So I know exactly what you mean about being triggered, and getting angry with Shaw.

Do you think Shaw pigs out on Dunkin' Donuts?
Fat people lack foresight and self discipline, I don't think he got fat just for WSM, he is probably a fat person at heart, that explains a lot. Probably pigs out on all kinds of fast food, all the time, unchecked blood sugar in the 300's for sure

We are hoping Shaw gets upwards of 450+, 500 pounds, not 350, that’s the real test

Shaw was 450-lb for the 2016 Arnold Pro Strongman. He is still 410-420 right now, unless he lost any weight due to his hospital stay.

I'm not sure what his heaviest body weight ever was, but probably around what he was in 2016.

For comparison, Greg Kovacs was between 412-lb to 416-lb at his heaviest - he was 6'2", and would have carried a lower body fat percentage at that weight than Brian Shaw did. Greg died two weeks before his 45th birthday, and was 365-lb two years before he died, and was probably not much lighter right until the end.

So I think it's fair to say that Shaw may be able to live to the age of 55 if he is lucky - unless he actually does drop at least 130-lb and keep it off for good, and get off all chemicals except for maybe TRT.

Are people forgetting that Shaw placed 2nd in 2021?  ;D

At age 39 no less, and was only 3.5 points away from winning the whole show!

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2021_World%27s_Strongest_Man

2021's contest was not THAT long ago...only 22 months ago.

I do think Brian can win his 5th title this year...it is by no means a sure thing, but I would put it in the realm of possibility. :)

PS - why is that song age-restricted?

This is true but still a bit misleading.  Some antibiotics are no longer used due to lack of efficacy but virtually all infections can be treated still.  Pharma companies don’t really develop new antibiotics since it’s not as profitable as other Ventures.  That’s capitalism!

I would like to see him walking around at 550 pounds

So would I, owe.

Maybe just 500, so he doesn't drop dead on the spot?

Would you like to check out Shaw's cock at the urinal, Bevo?  Would it be better for you if he was 550 pounds at the time?  Do you think Shaw's cock breaks the 6.45 inch barrier?

He indeed breaks the 6.4578 inches but I wouldn’t say he’s “massive” “girthy” yes

It would be a sight just to stand next to him in the urinals

I bet he has one of those hard pisses, where he pisses with great force and violently, like one of those high pressure washers for your car, strong stream coming out

Thor snaps his chest. Shaw almost loses his leg. Has strongman overtaken bodybuilding in becoming the new sport of health   ???

give him ten years and his enlarged prostate will have slowed it to a trickle he has to push out.

That was a fast change of heart - only 13.5 minutes since your previous post.

That being said, I suppose your wife is right. May as well not wish any negativity on Brian.

Personally, I just find it sad that he has two young sons who he may not see grow up, unless he plans to quit the chemicals literally the DAY after World's Strongest Man is over, and drops a MINIMUM of 130-lb of body weight, and keeps the weight off.

Even then - the damage [such as steroid-induced hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, among other things] may already be done.
His wife thought of the BBC (Big Brian's Cock) and told him to change his mind, which he did.

My father-in-law has a childhood friend that's 79, approaching 80 and he was overweight most of his life, and well over 300lbs for decades. He can barely get out of a chair. When it is time for dessert he takes multiple servings. He has diabetes but couldn't care less about that. I told my father-in-law his friend knows his one foot is in the grave and probably decided he might as well enjoy whatever he wants. But the dude is still alive after all that. He has to wear compression socks to keep the fluid down in his legs.

Probably have his legs amputated soon.

Totally worth it.

The dude is almost 80. I doubt he cares at this point.
