"We have progressed so far that it's now time to plan to end the Chevrolet Bolt EV and EU production, which will happen at the very end of the year," GM CEO Mary Barra told investors during the automaker's earnings call on Tuesday.

GM announced Tuesday it will stop production of its best-selling EV later this year.

The Bolt, which starts at $26,500, accounts for more than 90% of all GM's domestic EV sales.

The factory north of Detroit where Bolt hatchbacks and small SUVs are made will be converted to make Chevrolet Silverado EV and electric GMC Sierra trucks that will run on the company's next-generation Ultium EV platform.

I thought electric are were a fad at first but by all appearances it seems these companies are all in. The government behind the scenes actions to get electric stations set up is interesting.

Not sure how long this CR-V will last me, but I normally drive 'em til they die.
One of my kids is still driving the 2004 CR-V we got 19 yrs ago. Nothing ever went wrong with in all these years. (Normal maintenance).

The one I have is a 2015 maybe?  This thing might outlive me...

There was something like 30 billion paid out to the big three last year right after the electric vehicle summit held by the White House (the one Elon was not invited to).

The were all in at that point, the Bolt sold like shit and was setting people’s houses on fire. If you bought one you were told to park it at least 50 feet from any structure. Not surprised this came to a halt. The electric truck is just the only thing they were even close to having ready to replace the bolt.
