Yes it's a show of strength but nevertheless don't be mistaken,a few Chinese and perhaps Russian nuclear subs always lurk in the waters close to USA.
Russia had a destroyer sunk and it was blamed on a lone Ukrainian soldier with a missile launcher standing on the shoreline. Russia did nothing to the US 👀

I’m not meaning to sound like a bastard but your comment proves my point yet again which is people make up imagination land scenarios in order to support their bias that the US is somehow losing.
Magical subs nobody Ever sees but they are there hidden is very different to sailing halfway around the globe to plonk a Destroyer off a coastline and text ‘come at me bro’.
The US can openly antagonise with impunity. The others cannot.
