in the last few years, i can't count the number of times people have almost run into me while i was doing a set... a few examples:
- im doing lateral raises in front of the db rack (no other choice as its kind of cramped). someone darts in, literally dodging my arms to grab a dumbbell
- the "captains chair" is set in a somewhat narrow passage in my gym, so when your legs swing out it blocks the way. people can see this passage approaching from 30 ft away. they can see someone doing a set. yet time after time, instead of going around or waiting for the set to end, they look up from their smartphone in the last 5 steps and choose to dodge past like theyre playing an old nintendo platformer.
- one of the squat rack is also in a narrow passage, same deal as the captains chair. again, people routinely choose to dodge past you in between reps and wait, huffing and puffing for their opportunity...
Is the general populations pathing skill degrading? does alzheimers start in ones 20s now? are we (d)evolving into an insect-like hive mob?
anyone have similar experience?
