I just used google to search for the cast of “Soylent Green.”  It seems that Heston was just a bit player in the film.

Hmm. Are you sure? If so, Google likely got it wrong. He may have done some Cameos at the peak or towards the end of his career. A bit player is only slightly more than a walk-on. According to IMDB he was one of the three stars of Soylent Greene.
