As well, for several years, several years ago, the man was EASILY one of the very strongest, if not THE strongest, to have ever lived.

An absolute BEAST.

These sparring sessions prove absolutely nothing.

In a spontaneous and public dust-up, a guy like Eddie would atomize even top MMA warriors. As soon as you “spar”, you hyper-compartmentalize windows of opportunity.

Regardless, and as said, I dig Hall.

Personally, I was HAPPY to see the 2017 World's Strongest Man rigged for Eddie to win. I believe Eddie was upwards of 420-lb for a bit there. He's about 6'2.5". Monstrous man, but Eddie himself said he'd be dead in ten years if he stayed that size.

That's why I was happy the contest was rigged for him [favourable events]. It allowed Eddie to win, and give the other guys more of a chance to win the whole show. Eddie then did exactly that.

So it worked out for Eddie's lifespan, and for the WSM title to be up for grabs.

I know what you mean about Eddie throwing his hat in the ring with all these other things - but personally I'm just glad he chose life extension over a more likely early death. Meanwhile, 9x Canada's Strongest Strongest Man Jean-Francois Caron had a brutal quad injury at the 2022 Arnold, but is staging a comeback.  ::) Not everyone wants to make 55, I guess.

I hope Eddie is being smart with his cash though. Ideally, he should bank a few million, live off that, and shrink to sub-300 somewhere.

I dig Hall, too. I was surprised Henda had no Fandom for Hall, his UK brethren.  ;D

Regarding no-holds barred fights, Bradley Martyn has been asking many fighters if they would be able to beat him. He even asked Brendan Schaub if he [Martyn] would be able to beat him.  ::) Schaub was never champion, but he was a Top 10 UFC heavyweight fighter at one point.

I think around 220-lb is where more size doesn't necessarily help. IMO, Jon Jones and Mike Tyson prove that, as well as Igor Vovchanchyn and others. The extra size is a trade-off for endurance/stamina.

Sean O'Malley told Martyn he'd feel most confident fighting a massive man in a wide open space.

I think the one thing top Strongman would lack is a great gas tank. They train for 60-90 second events, and things would change if they didn't get the job done in that time.

I must say, I was surprised to see how well Brian Shaw did against Dustin Poirier [below]. Shaw keeping four points of balance at all times, and shifting/adjusting his weight like he did leads me to believe he had some training here:
