I was thinking this as well, after I heard Disney streaming was getting sold to Hulu or whatever. I was assuming this would make cable have a resurgence.

semicolon should be banned, its stupid.

Incorrect use of a comma.

Should be a period.

Two distinct statements.

Look into it.

(Obviously other issues, but we will leave it at this, for now.)

There. Fixed.

If you have questions, look into it. Fortress is leaving for the gym.

I think people are tiring of streaming services for some of the following reasons:

1. Price increases
2. Lack of what they want due to licensing
3. You'll always need internet and a subscription to watch streaming movies.
4. More content and extras on DVDs
5. You'll always own it unlike if you buy a movie on Amazon Prime and for whatever reason they lose the licensing, they'll delete that movie and you no longer own it even if you bought it. (This has happened).
6. Ads creeping into streaming and you have to pay more to opt out.  ::) (fucking assholes)
7. Companies changing/deleting original content because it is now considered "offensive".

Digital was the answer to combating movie piracy. There's total control and Disney, Netflix, Hulu, Paramount, Amazon and the rest make money monthly from your subscriptions
they continue raising the prices on annually.  Firesticks loaded with Kodi had its day but was beat into submission.

While torrenting is still a thing, it's a Gen X and Millineal thing .

Last but not least people are broke and in debt. Having subscriptions to 3-5 streaming services won't cut the mustard.

With the options being limited to streaming, pirating, DVDs or nothing.

Redbox will be bigger, piracy via torrenting and DVDs will be a thing again and in general more DVDs will sell.

I guess we'll see... :)

what do you mean torrenting is a gen x or millennial thing?  boomers aren't aware of it?

i still own all of my favorite movies on dvd, maybe about 100 or so and i still have some vhs tapes, yeah "tapes" i never heard anybody call them "vhs" until they became obsolete, though i don't have a VCR

i just like having a physical copy of my all time favorites even if i never use them, even if the quality is worse i like having a copy of that point in time you can say

i worry more about losing my playstation and xbox digital library, i would cry like somebody died if i lost that

I have about 2,000 or so films on VHS, SVHS, Laser Disc, DVD, BluRay and 4K UHD BluRay.

Including one or two that are not available in the US.  One night the interwebs went down and my wife wanted to know how I was still playing music.

I told her, "Records".  ;D

I looked forward to that every Friday my video store had some special I think it was rent 2 get 1 free. I would go up there and spend half hour or so going through movies to see what I was going to watch that weekend. Then all of a sudden that ended. I am not even sure when .

Behind his tiny ear, Beakdoctor has a collection of DVD’s that are dedicated to increasing penis size naturally, and penis enlargement surgery.

Nothing has worked

Be kind, please rewind. Also please don't use the standalone rewinding machines, they break the tapes :).

I will stay far, far away from those VHS death machines while tightly clenching my 2000 mint BTFO tape (and butthole)

Using your vcr to rewind tapes supposedly caused the vcr to breakdown.

As mentioned, gearheads used it to save wear and tear on the machines, but I think a large number of people had them because of late fees. They were crazy in my neighborhood at one time. I can remember having a stack of 3-4 movies to rewind some days, 1 in the vcr, one in the rewinder then switching trying to play beat the clock.

Growing up, my dad knew a guy that owned a couple of mom and pop type video stores. It was a mixed bag, sometimes they'd break a block buster, and he'd lose money because no one would pay the $30-90 tapes were at the time, they'd just get a new membership somewhere else. But sometimes, that would be offset by one of those rewinders breaking a few porno tapes.

A broken "Star Wars"? Screw you! A broken copy of "Flabby Face F@ckers 8"? Yes, I will pay your $97.50, just stop sending those bright pink bills to our house :).

Would be nice if we could watch and listen to Media on "Crystals" which we sat down on "Pods", lighting up a "Wall" like a "Projector" and emanating "Sounds".

"Music" is different "Here", not like Planet "Earth".

Probably ended around mid 00's. DVD rentals through the mail was actually what killed video stores and then streaming post 2010s killed that.
