I'm considering starting a small collection of blu rays

I'm a buyer of vinyl (and even CDs) and love physically owning media and seeing it on the shelf

That would be nice I have just about every streaming service there is and it’s around 100+ a month plus fucking cable at 230 a month. 330 monthly for tv, craziness.

I cancelled cable and all streaming services a couple years ago.  I only have internet service.  I stream all my TV content (movies, cable news, network TV from every local market across the country) from the dark web from a service provider outside of the country; I use a VPN.  They charge me $13/month.  I can get all the content from Disney+, Netflix, Hulu, etc.

I would never pay for a streaming service, I simply don't care. I use other people's accounts and my girlfriend has HBO Max, I grew up in the piracy era, paying for something I can get for free feels wrong to me. Most series and movies nowadays are shit anyway.

I continue to buy CDs and DVDs. Very regularly.

Particularly the former.

Order between two and 10 each week, as a matter of fact.

I ALWAYS have several in the pipeline (mail).

Yesterday I received a Japanese print of an older Vicious Rumors album.

I very much am put off by streaming.
Same here. I have a whole library of DVDs.

It seems most lap tops, computers and cars have no slot for a music cd or Dvd.  Haven't seen a new car in awhile that has a slot for music. Does everyone play music from their phone to the blue tooth connection in their car?  I have a pile of music CD's in my car.

Short answer is yes, most are just using streaming off of their phone. You can also buy a bluetooth FM transmitter that plugs into the cigar lighter plug if you don't have an 1/8" aux jack. I have them on a couple older fun cars that I want to keep original and not hack up the dash with a screen, etc. They work okay once you find a frequency that isn't being used by local terrestrial radio.

Just like the almighty Fortress, I never stopped buying CD's and DVD's.
I like the idea of owning something I pay for, not just a computer file.
Most give you both these days anyways a lot of the time. Buy the CD, get the free download MP3 or FLAC.

I still use the phone in the car to listen to full-albums (Clean Tube is the App) its a Youtube overlay that blocks all ads.
But the ones I want to own, I buy  the media... I still have all my albums from childhood (500 or so)...
SO fun in the day, getting a new album like Kiss Alive II. The double-jacket of photos, the booklets inside, lyrics, the stickers, etc...

After Lou’s first move, Arnold quickly placed an Ouija board on the table to tell his mother that he won.
