I believe in one interview, he claimed to never have used any type of synthol products.
Actually it's not "obviously" Synthol. I think it's something else, but my why conceal it. At the time back then many had not heard of differen't site enhancement products so he wanted to use his explanation for a while. Then after a while going back on his story can't be done.
It's pathetic that anyone hasn't found an explanation in so many years. At the early days Chad Nicholls believed they were implants of some sort. "No way is that Synthol, that's way more than what can be achieved!" I think it's some type of oil that is mixed with something that retains in the body for a long time. They say the Brasilians use "motor oil" but that sounds retarded even for Valentino.
Just so Gregg's version is covered here, he always claimed it was oil from massive testosterone and Equipoise injections, injected straight into the biceps. That, plus a fascia stretching program. In his book, he does go on and on that yes there is oil in his biceps, but claims it's just massive site injections. He never gives any amounts, just that it was Test and Eq.
I can't figure it out. All those guys were friends with Bruce Nadler, and he was at one point toying with the idea of slow, small, silicone injections, with the hope that it would be encapsulated by the muscle. Maybe Gregg tried that out.
Edit: He mentions dosing here -

"I did a lot of Testosterone. I did about 3000 mg of Test per week. I love Testosterone and I love Equipoise. The Test I did was mostly propionate. Once in a while I would do enanthate and I would always keep it with Equipoise. I’d probably do, oh God… I would do a shot every other day. I wouldn’t worry about the amount of oil; I would worry about the amount of drug. Over the course of a week, I take 3,000 mg of Test and probably put in 400 to 500 mg of Equipoise. Remember, that’s 15 mg shots. So that would be about 10 CC’s of EQ over a week’s period. I would do shoulders, triceps, and biceps."
