I just caught up.

I would be clear it has to be a straight bar, 10 full DL reps, complete reset.

But f'n hilarious - first he wanted to buy a specialty deadlift bar, then we also found out he's welched out on his local gym and doesn't have the decency to pay back dues.  That's the real issue here.
Good point Grape.....he has to pull from a dead stop on every rep, and also complete lockout......nothing else will suffice.

No bouncing,hitching,no bent knees in the top position, and he has to lean back flexing the erectors at the top of each rep.......old school style.

A 230 lb, long term drug abuser deadlifting 280 lbs as a “challenge” is comical.

The fake black blood story must not have got him enough attention.

I generally don't talk about lbs, since it's all relative to the user, but I did a pretty comfortable 315x5 straight bar, on my third workout back after getting out of the boot and not having deadlifting in 13 weeks.  No special deadlift bar, no bounce, no straps, etc.  I weigh a massive ectomorphic 180.

First workout was with 135 up to 225, next one up to 275, next one to 315.  Then I started Ed Coan's 10 week program Friday.

If Hankins can't do 280, I would be surprised.

You guys don't get out on some form police bullshit you made the bet. You don't get to claim I barely got it or I shook or I was winded doesn't matter 10x off the ground to a standing position that is it.

Just do a conventional deadlift.

Combo lifts will not be approved, as you're shifting the muscle group to complete the lift.

Also, why don't you pay the $ you owe to the gym?

I know how a DL works.  Just do 10 with 280 and a reset.

No, I did not chuck them up you chucked them up and took the tension off at the top then did not control the negative, my reps were constant tension up to neck level and across the chest which makes it more difficult. What's more you did what 16 reps and had to make noises then strained your hand and nearly died coughing up satanic stuff, I hope your bowels blow out like that whale.

I bet you cant do 130 standing straight up, no wall and no back bend curling the bar from arms full extended to a full contracted curl

My heaviest working set is 280 lbs, did it just a few days ago, it is not a lie or a trick.  It is good for me at my age and state (I have a chronic hip issue although it's been good lately), I'm ~180 lbs soaking wet natural.

It was one rep yes but that does not make it a one-rep "max".  It was after five other effortful sets, plus I do a set of 20 after that so leave a little in the tank.  If I warmed up deliberately for a 1RM I'm sure I could do more than 280 lbs or could do 280x3 or so.

Is he bitching out on attempting his 280-lb set because of this info?  It looks like he deleted that post.
