So they voted in the primary of a party they are not registered for just so they could vote for Trump's Republican opponent, Haley, even though they would not vote for Haley in the general election? Or would they have voted Haley if she ran against Biden?
I was relaying what friends and family said they would do as opposed to who they ended up voting for at the end of the day (in the primaries).
Only if they lived in one of the twenty states with open primaries could they vote for whichever candidate they chose regardless of their party registration. Folks may have changed parties prior to voting. Oregon has closed primaries so voters can only vote for candidates in their registered party. However, they can change parties up to 21 days before the Primary Election. It was a moot point because Niki Haley was not on the ballot and needed to be written in. Also, Haley 'bowed out' of the race before all the states primaries took place. Their votes were against Trump, but not against Biden so I doubt they intended to vote for Haley rather than Biden.
For the record, I am a registered Democrat and did not change parties prior to the primary therefore, my vote was for President Biden.
Surely, you could have figured this out for yourself.
