@ 0:34 you see exactly what I mentioned on another post, a high grip on the collar.
This is the forerunner of Aiki budo, Aikido
I learned the Aiki budo techniques which were very close to Daito Ryu Aki jutsu.

Jiu-Jitsu has roots in old Japanese jujutsu, where samurai developed grappling techniques for situations where weapons weren’t an option. Pretty cool how those old techniques eventually evolved into the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu we know today.
