Question for all you brits, jeffrey, darren et al.

Ever been in Birmingham in the past years?

I live in Birmingham. Well, quite near to it. And yes, it is very diverse and the most diverse places tend to be full of litter and people park like scumbags in them. Add on 10 mins to a journey if you plan to drive past one. Market stalls blocking pavements. Fly tipping. Unruly kids. Women crossing anywhere like they think they're back home. It's a mess

Same.  Like any big European town nowadays you can pretty much drive through the different areas and make your own judgements on the principles, daily habits and value base of its inhabitants and 'communities'

Plenty of chance. I have elderly parents. My mother wants to move abroad, but my father is sick and has never wanted to move to warmer pastures. Can't handle hot countries, which she loves. Once my father is gone, I'm gone. I don't live in a particularly bad area. But yes, I'm getting too old and am longing for an even quieter countryside existence.

I noticed some parts on the outskirts of Birmingham like around Lickey Hills have started going to shit because they shifted loads of inner city council house tenants out to around there.

Shame. Lickey Hills was/is a nice area. I like where I live, too. It's a small country and the population size is vastly under reported. Supermarkets estimate tens of millions higher than what the gov are saying...

You're absolutely not wrong there, but we're over in the South East on the absolute perimeter  ;) so able to price ourselves out of things... ... for now

That's the problem with the UK. Size to population ratio is getting tough. Anywhere decent now is 600k+

And even if someone might have moved to Solihull and stuff back in the day, the earlier immigrants who are financially secure will be fleeing to those nicer areas in droves soon because their own areas are becoming infested with new immigrants and HMOs.

you can get decent property up north for reasonable money

This is offers over £265 k

In Kent this would be £1.5 million

22% Muslim.  It'll be one of the first flashpoints in the battle for Western Europe.

Ron, watch Birmingham, UK.

2000 14% Muslim
2010 21% Muslim
2021 30% Muslim

I predict that 35% is the tipping point when it rapidly becomes another Savile Town.  No shots fired, no swords drawn.

Hope to hell I'm wrong.

My dad works at Heathrow airport. He says all the foreign workers there complain its too crowded and want to move to less populated areas, ironic that immigrants are now moaning.

Does the posh part have all whats needed so you never have to pass through the darkened areas?

You have your own supermarkets, cinemas, shops, stores etc?

what a coincidence, a youtube prankster/komedy- "celeb" is captured there. I just watch it for a laugh sometimes dunno why it's kind of braindead/simple/slapstick humor but it works

I always recognise a face instantly, miles away.

Fenham/west end in Newcastle is the same drive down any back street and the amount of filth laying around is unbelievable

Absolutely - plus schools, colleges and a really nice little hospital - we're set.  I've even got a really nice route to the city-centre when I need to travel in for business - the only real problem with that is the relatively modern phenomenon of begging at major traffic lights :-\
