I doubt that all of it is entirely true though. I think they needed some good “drama” for their story to make it catch the viewers attention

Plus the exposure they were getting they had numerous other outlets of income coming in

All the people from the X factor type shows earn very little money, they are contracted to Cowell for years.
they get limos to ferry them around like stars but it all comes out of their future earnings, all the concerts are put on , huge venues massive productions which the all ultimatly have to pay for out their own pocket

Simon Cowell is the only winner

Its basically a scouting for talent auditions sold as a TV show all over the world
