I admit to listening to some gangsta rap when training on occasion. Hey the hardcore Westside white supremacist powerlifters reportedly always listened to rap in training. I have a low opinion on most of it, and especially the stuff that is very popular. Ironically I saw some rap artists mentioned by some "white supremacists" prompting me to check some of it out. There's some "depressive" type rap that I like as well, artists like BONES, some Suicideboys, etc. I don't give a F if some purist heavy metal type thinks I suck

It really is the case that someone just decides what the public will like, they WILL listen to it goddammit LOL. What is heavily promoted is ethnic music, and white artists aping the blacks. I don't know if this sounds paranoid to you guys, but I'm certain there are conscious decisions made for social engineering purposes. Music is an incredibly powerful instrument for that. Artists become like minor gods with huge influence
I have seen some mentions about even some black rap artists feeling they are being pushed by record execs to make their music more degenerate, more drugs, more violence, more societally destabilizing, that sort of thing. Sometimes the artists step off the reservation though e.g. Kanye, or that fella who sang "Death to the IDF" and then it suddenly becomes a huge problem, it's no longer about artistic freedom
