Seems incredibly long and expensive. I know someone who sleeps with one of those CPAP machines. Horrible existence. Lose the weight instead.
Some bodybuilders suffer from it & just recently I saw a documentary about some German bodybuiler who was diagnosed with it, definitely not overweight in the strict sense of the word but due to his mass & probably drug use...he had to sleep with a mask

They not decided yet - said they will on the day.
They went in in February to get stone only they couldn't
find it- it appears it moved back into my kidney
That's when they put these stents in that are causing
me so much trouble.

I had a stent first time I had one removed

Second time the stent was coming out a hole in my back into a bag

Most heavyweight bodybuilders and strength athletes suffer from it. First thing they did when I asked for a sleep analysis many years ago was measure my neck as there is a strong correlation, I think mine was 20 then. I didn't get diagnosed then but I'm positive I've had apnea at least periodically when I've been heavier. I think the machine can save lives.

If your hobby is forcing you to wear a mask to stop you dying in your sleep then you should look into doing something else.

I rarely get more than 1.5 2hrs max - Hoping that will change in
next couple of weeks as got an op on my kidney to remove the 2
stents that have been in since February & are aggravating my
kidney I'm pissing out a lot of blood when I pee.
Plus remove a big stone sat right in the middle of my kidney.

I'm damn knackered all the time.

I would advise ureteroscopy before keyhole surgery.  You say you already have stents, so that makes the surgery easier.   The shock wave lithotripsy is an alternative, but you will feel like Mike Tyson used your lower back and kidney as a punching bag.  Especially if the stone is bigger than average.  (Over 4.5)

Kidney stones are no joke.  In 2015 I was on a flight back from Narita and we were over the ocean with 6 hours to go when some guy in the back decided this would be the most appropriate time to pass his kidney stone.  I was up front in business class with my headphones on and noticed people turning around and looking behind us and flight attendants standing in the aisle looking back.  I took off my headphones and despite that guy being wayyyyy in the back, you could hear him wail and cry.  It was the most agonizing sound I have ever heard.   And there was nothing they could do at that point but fly on.  We were too far from Narita and nowhere to divert the plane to fast except LAX which was the closest, but still hours away.  That guy was in such pain.  He wanted to die.  Literally.  He said so himself.  "I want to die, God please let me die".  (By the time we reached LAX everyone else on the plane wanted him to die too)  They ended up taking him in the back and laying him out flat on the galley floor, but there was nothing else they could do but heat up water bottles and giving him a big dose of Tylenol and ibuprofen.  When we landed and the paramedics came on and wheeled him off, he was probably in his early 50s.  Drenched in sweat and hyperventilating.

This episode bothered me so much that on the very next trip I took to India, I bought a bottle of Morphine Sulfate 20mg/ml and 20 tabs of Oxycontin to pack in my travel bags as a safe guard if I were ever overseas somewhere and had an accident or injury or whatever, I wouldn't have to wait hours and hours for treatment or pain relief.

Man, sorry to hear that. I don't sleep well because of tears in both shoulders but that's nothing compared to this.

Washington Examiner contributor Kimberly Ross.

“No, it’s not good that Carlson, Bannon, Posobiec, and [Texas Attorney General Ken] Paxton are speaking at TPUSA’s AmFest in December,” Ross wrote. “It’s bad, actually. The cancer should be cut out.”

Just saw this.

Injured my shoulder this spring and didn't sleep more than 3 hours at a time until repositioning.  After waking in pain after after another three hours I was too tired to sleep, if that makes sense.  I finally started getting up to 5 hours straight a few weeks ago.

Pain is awful but that lethargy is a mean kind of hell.

Hang in there.

How's it going ?  Do pain meds not have any effects to allow you to sleep longer.
What have you done / injured in your shoulder ?
Having that broken sleep is a killer as we're not able to rest & recover properly
And as you say we end up getting up even more tired/ worn out.

Have you explored peptides for sleep?  Seems to be some good data backing it.

Right leg went out from under me when doing a Muay Thai quick switch kick.   I fell to the right and reached out, resulting in a dislocation.  It felt the same as when I suffered a shoulder separation 20 years ago, so I thought that I'd just get a referral for PT.  Nope.  Next morning I was in agony and went to the ER.  Doc popped it back in - no ketamine. :D There was a nurse standing by with a syringe of it, though.

It resulted in the terrible triad: dislocation, torn rotators, and damaged brachial plexus nerves.

Two months in the nerves started waking up.  Nerve pain is no joke and has been as bad as the shoulder joint.  Gabapentin for the win.

Unfortunately, the most painful position is when lying down.  The amount of pain med that would allow me to sleep would be more harmful than beneficial.  Getting up to 5 straight hours of sleep has REALLY improved my energy levels.

I'm having PT to increase the ROM.  Ortho said he won't operate unless I have near-normal ROM.  Getting a second opinion next week - wish me luck!

Damn - yes that was / is a serious injury .
Sounds like you're improving & healing + getting a good 5 hrs is a big boost in right direction.
And hopefully that will increase for you.

Good thinking to have a 2nd opinion & With some good fortune you'll have some positive news.

Well, it wasn't my idea, in fact, I've never gotten a second opinion.

Gals at PT repeatedly raised their eyebrows at ortho doc's requirement that I improve ROM before surgery.  If I have ROM, then why get surgery, is what they've asked.

I like the doc, but I've never experienced an injury like this.  I've had a spinal fracture, trauma-induced disc herniation, rib fractures, blah, blah...  I need another set of eyes.

That's what I was thinking why have surgery if you have full range of movement,
Mind I'm not a expert on shoulder surgery.
I'd say its a wise decision to seek out a 2nd opinion.

Injuries nothing worse & as we age we're more prone to them 🤷🏻‍♂️

Surgeons are in the business of doing surgery.

I had a Gall Bladder problem once years ago.....it was bad/disgusting, but it was only this one  time  thing.

The ER doc suggested that I see a surgeon,so I went to see this broad who prefaced her  statement with:

It`s probably nothing, but I think we should remove your Gall Bladder !!!!!!!!

I immediately walked out....if it was nothing, why in the fuck would I let you cut me up ???

It`s like Nat says above, surgeons get paid huge coin.........she wasn`t buying a bigger boat on my fucking dime.

Never had a problem with my Gall Bladder again......of course it`s gone now along with a few other parts but fuck her.
