I'm the same age as Valente give or take a year.
Being someone who was in the gym scene back in the late 70s, 80s and early 90s, I recall that there were some guys that the girls fawned over.
A guy like Valente would have been the type.  Good looking, popular, etc. 
Like the high school star type.
Alpha male.
For your average guys this did not happen then.
The chicks would not give them the time of day.
Since Valente is now 67 those hot chicks will not give him the time of day now.
He is now considered an old man by the hot chicks, especially when he hits on them.
He is no longer the stud guy.
You reach a point where you are not sexually desirable by the young and beautiful.
Valente is probably not hitting on 67 year old women in the gym either.
A lot of people he knew are dead which does not speak well for the "sport" of bodybuilding.

I have not been in a commercial gym in over 30 years and it sounds really messed up with people hogging equipment, etc.

We lived in the best of times these kids are so fucking sterile and weak personality wise, they would not know what to do back in the day.  None of these girls would fuck like the 90s fitness girls, too self obsessed with the way they look and it doesn't look like these guys want to fuck them anyway either too busy looking at themselves as well. It's very weird.  I feel bad for my son. He'll never know what a normal interaction with a girl is. Im sure he'll get laid, he's a good looking kid but he'll never pick up a girl at the gym. Or go to the mall on a Saturday afternoon and spend all day getting phone numbers. He'll meet chicks online through games and social media which is totally bizarre to me. It’s uniquely odd because you can tell the dudes want to talk to the chicks, and the chicks love the attention.  But as soon as a dude gives them attention they act like bitchy fucking snobs, then wonder why no one talks to them. I see more and more dudes who are dorks, look like they never touched a weight or saw the sun a day in their lives with good looking girls. And the kind of kids who used to get laid all the time are alone or hanging around with other dudes. WTH???

I get laid regularly and almost always girls in their 20's but never from the gym. It's always at a nightclub or bar. And its not like I have much choice in the matter. There's a type of younger girl that likes older white men- and Im not talking about paying for it either. At a certain age chicks just look right past you, regardless how good looking you are or used to be. You might as well not even exist to them unless you are their fetish. I rarely- actually never- talk to women my own age, mid 50's, maybe occasionally ill go out with a woman who is 40 but usually younger and almost always much younger. But it's the kind of thing where 90% of girls in their 20's just look right past you, 9% are nice to you but if you flirted with them they'd think you're weird, but there's that 1%  that wants to be fucked by someone they can call "daddy" and they let you know it immediately.
