What does blow my mind is hiw Tailor says in the intro that he went into protestantism and then became convinced that catholicism is the truth. Like how   ??? ??? ???
The only people who fall for catholicism are usually the ones who are too lazy and stupid to read what the text says.

It’s because he doesn’t believe any of it. The Catholic Church will let him progress/advance in his “career”. There’s no logical way anyone who study scripture could think that the Catholic Church was established by Jesus and Peter was the first pope. It’s a decision made for selfish intentions.

unwieldy

Makes sense. I have spent quite some time over the years trying to find the truth about it all and I have done a lot of bible study, but of course I am not the brighest so I can't claim I have read or understood it all cover to cover. But it is clear as day to me that catholicism is not supported by the bible.

no logical way

But how much of religion is based on logic? Obvious rhetorical question.

And what is faith wrt to religion, facts and logic?

Hebrews 11:1: "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

I see a lot of Catholics in the right wing groups I follow. Some have a high opinion on someone named E. Michael Jones. He's some sort of renegade I guess.

I snapped this off an IG post re: how and what Christians, in general, today believe. Christianity is whatever feels good and right. Not to all, but seems most apply this way of thinking, picking out the agreeable parts of the bible and discarding the rest.

Many say they are Christians, but what does that mean? Is the message of Christ a “do what feels good ideology“?

Can someone by a minor attracted person and be a Christian? Can someone be an adulterer and be a Christian? Can someone be a drug addict and still be a follower of Christ?

Todays Christianity doesn’t mean everyone who says they are a Christian is a follower of Christ.  Jesus warned his followers to look out for wolves in sheep’s clothing.

What’s unique about Christianity is that even non believers can tell you what Jesus stood for and how He would have responded to a situation, so they know how true believers should react.

I say all this to point out we are known by the fruit we produce. Godly people make bad decisions and do awful things, some of which they cannot recover from (Moses was not allowed into the promised land) but God forgives a repentant heart.

Jesus preached a message of love. But he also preached a message of self denial, discipline and devotion. It’s good to know your loved BUT many say they love and follow Jesus while their actions show otherwise.

The problem is that “western” or “modern” Christianity has become watered down into a live however you want because God loves you message, when Jesus challenged and called us to be separated from this life and transformed from our old ways.  Modern faith has the love message but its lost the fear of God. Man is trying to conform God into our image. Think about it culturally, the Bible is a book based on kingdoms and one King ruling His people, whereas western culture is about democracy and individual rights. People are missing a lot of the message because of culture. There is a lot of picking and choosing of what to believe (and again this is not anything new as even Peter had to be rebuked by Paul for how he became “religious” and wouldn’t eat with uncircumcised Gentiles).

As far as Tbombz he likely has had an encounter with Jesus and it has impacted his life, but in my opinion, which can be wrong, his current journey is self serving and ego driven as opposed to fulfilling a calling and gift in his life.
