No one sent me to do anything. Brian went dark recently after admitting to me something big happened in his life. The last thing he said to me was he congratulated me on getting my home gym going with some new equipment.

Keep in mind I was one of his biggest haters for a very long time. Water loading/depleting, sodium loading/depleting just totally in the dark. But willing to get on stage anyway.

Why?

 Because he loves bodybuilding.

He knew he was not going to place well but still he did his best. Maybe the advice I gave him helped a little maybe not but he seemed willing to listen to me despite our history.

Over a short period of time the glimpse into his life I got I came away liking him even more.

Now, sadly, he's literally vanished and it's for his benefit sure. And a loss for us.

When Bhanks was entering his BB comp I said that he had better body than 95% of population but worse than 95% of competitive bodybuilders.

His squat follows suite. 4 plates is way more than you see in ALMOST any gym. Depth was way better than you mostly see. Strengt is there as you can see from the rate the bar is moving.
He has those better safety straps in his cage so he could easily adjust them accordingly and try to go a bit deeper with sets of 265-220lbs. Nothing to lose there.
But as powerlifting has fucked itself with multiple federations and rules, there are many where that squat would get 3 whites…

I've done many, many ugly squats and deadlifts.  I'm not proud of that or anything but I just testify that it isn't the case that you immediately injure yourself, doing an ugly lift.  He'll probably be okay.  I do think he is cruising for the bruising now if he doesn't stop and get a better base but perhaps he will feel more comfortable doing that now.
