You are avoiding the question I posed to you. You do realize that if there wasn't a gun, he would have found another way to do it. Thats the cold FACT of someone contemplating suicide.
You want to blame a gun in this situation but he wasn't shot by someone, he did it himself. Blaming a "gun" in this case is a MASSIVE stretch.
Would he though? It’s more difficult to commit suicide by other means. The act of committing suicide is a highly impulsive one, and any additional steps in the process makes the individual less likely to carry it out.

Overdose deaths and liver transplants from Tylenol overdoses declined significantly. Sure, if you’re really determined, you can just buy a bunch of packs and take them all at once. But most suicidal people aren’t that determined.
I’m not against gun ownership, and I’m not saying that this gentleman wouldn’t have found another way to do it. But it’s well established that having access to a gun increases one’s chance of using it on oneself.
