Looking for a gym in Vegas.
« on: November 08, 2025, 09:40:35 AM »
As you know, my family and I moved back to Vegas. I'm settling in, and now is the time to find a gym. There's so many nowadays and I've been paralyzed by analysis.

Has anyone heard of or been to New Tech? It's one Eastern and Serene. It used to be an EOS and before that a Gold's. It's the new "it" bodybuilding gym. When I was at the Olympia, Milos said it would be the new mecca in bodybuilding.  They had equipment on display you could train on, it was unique and felt good.

Anyway, what say you?

If I was you I'd get a day pass at the NewTech, the Torture gym, the Dragons Lair and the Powerhouse (and maybe some others I've never heared of) and then make a conscious decision which one fit's you the most. Pretty simple :)

Too many people at that place for me. Seems like the guy is just bumping into people. Fuck all that noise. So many people on the gym trend these days it’s fucking annoying.

Go to a local small one or what about that Golds on Sahara that the fridge used to train at/haunt?

Don’t go to Dragons Lair. Very important please don’t support any influencer gyms.

I hate all those influencer gyms with a passion. So many popping up filled with tool bags walking around. Can’t wait until all file chapter 11

Yeah, it's gettin' a lil exhausting when you have to navigate your way in the gym through all those douzens of tripods and selfie-sticks

Newtech is nice and new with some equipment none of the other gyms have. Parking sucks there but it’s nice. The newest Fitclub is just down the road too. Right across the street from the LVAC. It’s a great gym too. It’s a bit younger crowd and has some really hot girls there. There is a lot of people taking pics and videos at both those of though, but that only bothers bitter old men.
Cult Fitness is right up Eastern almost in Anthem. Really nice inside and has awesome equipment. It the smallest of the three in this area. Sergio Jr is there a lot and a lot of bikini and fitness girls are there.
Dragons Lair is also here on the south side but it’s small and overpriced imo. Nice equipment though.
They’re also opening 3 new Crunch Fitness here too. The closest one on the south side is going to be at the old 24hr Fitness on Pecos and Wigwam. The other one is gonna be on East Lake Mead. And the last one on the west side.

Thanks for the write up Sway. I don't know if I said it before when you asked, but I moved to Green Valley.

What made you leave FL? Also how is the cost in FL vs Las Vegas (housing/etc)? Is work hard to find in LV?

My family is still in LV.  Now that I'm married with a toddler and we want one more, we should be surrounded by family so our children grow up with family and close friends. I enjoyed my 7.5 years there, but it's time to put my selfishness aside and think of the greater good.  Rent is cheaper in Vegas. Food is cheaper in Florida. Gas is cheaper in Florida. Car insurance is cheaper in Vegas. Yes, work is hard to find in Vegas, but that's not something I have to worry about.

what makes the old men bitter?

The younger generations, fucking off, admiring themselves, recording and taking pictures vs. just focusing on lifting and pulling.

Yay I figured that’s what he was saying. I do find it annoying the amount of time people spend setting up tripods to deadlift 400 pounds, every week, when it’s busy but I unfortunately understand wanting to record “best” lifts.

What I really can’t stand is the guys who play their music from their phone or a speaker. If you don’t like what the gym is playing buy earphones.

We’ve created a generation of  self absorbed and entitled goofs.

The younger generations, fucking off, admiring themselves, recording and taking pictures vs. just focusing on lifting and pulling.

Playing off what I said above, most of what they’re recording is useless. In 39 years they’ll be pulling up their YouTube channel to prove their outlandish strength claims aren’t true.

Fit Club LV is my favorite. Sign against filling your whole workout and being a queen. Only been to the original location. I find the atmosphere at the gyms in Vegas very dependent on the time of day you go.
