keyhole for an a***hole

not that many would cqre but i mentioned a while back im lined up for shoulderreco surgery..both are trashed so one at a time so i can wipe myself etc.. went in tuesdaymorning was out of surgery just after midday. supraspinatus and infra were  known complete snapped biceps unknown so the call was if it aint broke dont fix but if bad or ready to snap etc there are option utilise them whilst im in theatre..

woke feeling ok.. followig is as explained to my un medically qualified self 

turns out when threy got in there it was pretty bad. ideal is they rip out at the bone and take a small poece with  much easier to reattach and bone mends more successfully than tendon. well both of them were snapped mid tendon  threy almost aborted then and there but since i was so optimistic (pain in the neck dont want to schedule another procedure more like) it was victory or valhalla and they persevereed managing to stretch them and suture.  this is the relatively risky one as thry are under considerable added tension whilst trying to knit and thius injury happened pre covid(i delayed things to get enough earned - blue collar bloke so do what i can- to ensure family would be ok for the future  dont regret it im no hero my family are just fucken worth it. big reason i despise 'me me me' trust fund hanky

biceps tendons was in top shape. so now its an uphill battle

4 weeks immobilised in an orthopedic sling then slow gradual passive stretches and return to full range. introduction of light stretchband work then by about 4 months i might be able to give the barbell a gentle look butno plates working up to dad bod poundages. ive benched 300lbs for a single with both sides snappedup and had surgery date not come up at short noitice was improving and 350 was maybe possible. so think its reasonable to head that way if all goes well. knowing i could do it snapped up relatuively painfree (relatively) with the revised bar path/groove means it shouldnt tax repaired bits post h100% healing process.. .overhead pressing will forever be far more modest on purpose

left side is only slightly less stuffed  if thius goes well will push for that asap thereafter.

Just want to say staff were all rockstars - nurses anaesthetists surgeons the lot.. we have public health care here and im blood grateful for it. does my head in that a lot of patients are nasty to the staff. try living in some third world shithole and experience the difference.

im in a sling for the next 4 months can't do fuck all. posts even went up here as teh date was confirmed and i reduced and finally stopped work hours in the final run, just in case there was an earlier option (people cancel and anyone able to say yes at short notice get the sugar)

Great reception by staff and surgeons etc is important for a good recovery IMO.
Unfortunately IMHO surgeons are always in such a hurry IME and never have time questions
