Actually saw a guy at my gym doing that in the late 80’s I was 17 or 18 at the time, guy was insanely strong and the biggest dude in the city at the time, repping out with no spotter like it was a walk in the park, huge purple cysts all over his back, blew my mind lol

I also witnessed  the same in the late 80's.  The guys name was Sean Foley.  He was the biggest and strongest guy I have ever seen in my life.  And I powerlifted for 15 years.  He never competed in anything.  He was just insane and strong AF.  He weighed about 300 pounds and maybe 6 foot.  He committed suicide a few years back. His pressing strength was unreal.
