Really? Mold filling the residence?
Sometimes mildew builds up in the shady areas along the outside walls of my house or garage. When it shows up, I hit it with a power washer.
In my area the growth of algae on exterior siding is very common. Usually on the north sides of the houses.
Very humid and hot summers.
I get it only on the north side. Like you, I clean it off every year.
Some people don't tend to it and it gets pretty bad.
I think there is always mold or mildew in a house to some degree.
The bad kind is inside your walls where you can't see it.
It doesn't bother most people but some are highly sensitive to it.
Use a dehumidifier in your basement to keep humidity levels down.
Any water intrusion must be addressed immediately and cleaned up and the area dried.
Like a basement flooding. Finished basements are prone to mold growth as the walls are enclosed.
You need to run a dehumidifier to keep the humidity level down.
If you get a basement flood you might have to cut open the drywall to really dry it out.
Don't get a flooded basement.
Have a backup sump pump and test it regularly.
My area has a high water table. There are people in my neighborhood who constantly get flooded basements.
It's like being on a ship where the bilge pumps out constantly.
You see the rolled up carpets out for trash pickup.
Their sump pump fails and they get a flood.
I put in a back up sump pump and an alarm.
It has been activated quite a few times over the years.
Have gone through a number of regular electric sump pumps too. They last 3-5 years if I'm lucky as they run 9 months out of the year.
I keep an extra pump on hand.
