We would have a flood of refugees pouring over our border. If we could protect the border I’d have no issue with it, because it is certainly a country not controlled by honest people. The point is there wouldn't be a war, there'd be nothing to flee.  In fact they'd have incentive to stay there.  If the Rule of Law was established there with our assistance, then it could become a wealthy country with a functioning economy.  Industry, real estate, and tourism would skyrocket.

Much as I like our assistance cleaning up these narcoterrorist scum, I think it may be best to downplay the US assistance and involvement so as to prevent targeting here in the US.  Not sure on this though.  I don't want Americans hurt, but if they were, it might end things down there quicker also and preempt some kind of loner term war of attrition.

But I Agree with him on Ukraine and Russia, on Israel I believe he's involving the US to avoid escalation by Israel, as if there is one state that will go nuclear early its Israel and if Iran start to hurt them through retaliation Bibi will escalate without hesitation and US approval, US involvement is defensive in nature as its trying to contain the conflict.

Same here.  Closest I ever got was setting foot on Cozumel while on a Caribbean cruise, and even then I didn't feel comfortable venturing too far from port.
