This. When I worked out at a boxing gym we had "champion" kickboxers who transitioned to boxing and didn't last long.

Which is why this is a joke.

Holy shit. Anyone watching this?

Verhooven is winning.  Fairly clearly too.

Wow, Verhooven was winning- at absolute worst the fight was even IF you gave Usyk every single benefit of scoring,  but most people had Rico winning.

Usyk looked old, slow, tired, puzzled.  Finally lands a beautiful uppercut , knocks Rico down. Rico gets up and after a few more shots from Usyk, the ref jumps in and stops it. A terrible,  premature,  Richard Steele stoppage.

Idk if the ref just ruined the sport or saved the sport. Rico is a hell of a fighter. Usyk very lucky to get the win.

Wild.

Should have given him the minute to try and recover btw rounds.  I can't prove it but it was going to end in the 12th as Rico could barely stand.  Still, he deserved the opportunity to try.  He didn't protest.  Rico did fantastic.  I had him up 2 going into the 11th.  With the 11th being a 2 point round for Usyk, it was dead even on my card if they would have fought the 12th.  Two good guys and classy sportsmen.

I understand that sparring is sparring but Rico has had world class sparring the last ten years or so he was much more seasoned than his 1-0 boxing record indicated.

As the fight was playing out, all I could think of was if Rico gets the nod we may have seen Rico and Francis Ngannou next for the lineal, undisputed heavyweight championship.  That would have been historic considering Francis never lost his heavyweight MMA title.

It's a good day I guess if we're talking boxing, right?

After Benavidez's destruction of Zurdo, I was saying that's the fight to make.  I'll respectfully disagree with you though on Benavidez smashing Usyk.  Unless we're talking about a shot version of Usyk, no heavyweight in history would ever smash him.  Young version of Foreman would be rough just based on the match up.  Something tells me that the next time Usyk fight's he'll look significantly better.  To clarify, I'm not saying David can't beat Usyk.  I'm just saying Usyk is an ATG and bigger than David.  Usyk would be the favorite.  I'd like to see David fight Jai Opetai with the winner getting Usyk.  I don't want to see another Usyk-Fury or Usyk-Joshua or Usyk-Dubois.  Maybe Usyk Itauma and finish with the winner of Benavidez vs Jai.

I think David crushes Jai Opetai also....instead he wants to go back down to fight Bivol  and Betrbiev for legacy.

While he`s up in weight he should go for Usyk IMO.......imagine if he won what an accomplishment it would be?

Gotta` go for greatness as Usyk ain`t getting any younger and David`s not even 30 years old.

Bivol gives David hell at 175.  I'd say Beterbiev as well but he's 41 and been inactive.  But Benevidez vs Beterbiev is an absolute slobber knocker for as long as it lasts.

I agree on both counts, but I can` see dropping back down to 168 or 175 when his walking around weight is over 200 (remember David was a fat kid).....just go for Usyk....... U never know........why weight drain yourself.........Bivol has an injury right now anyway.

Shoot for the moon, fuck it, if he loses he loses against a legend, and it`ll be his only loss so far, then if he wants Bivol he can drop back down in weight.
