It should be mentioned that...Jim Quinn said that they did a skin fold measurement which showed 0.0% bodyfat on Flex Wheeler at the Gold's in Venice one week before the 93 Mr. Olympia. He also said Flex was the only bodybuilder to ever do that.

In this video I found this statement which I've never heard before. And never heard a bodybuilder experiencing. Is this really the case?

is this really a condition? thickning fascia? never heard of it.


Personally I think his kidneys where just failing acutely and that made his blood pressure race super high and in turn caused blood vessles rupture and internal bleeding. I don't think the theory they have of thickening muscle fascia is true. More likely just acute kidney failure due to whatever drugs abused. Maybe mostly because of diuretics but who knows

His autopsy revealed nearly 0% body fat, a failing liver with tumors, and severe cardiac hypertrophy (heart weighing 636g).

Liver: Numerous large tumors (some the size of table tennis balls) were present, with half the liver reduced to a crumbly, polystyrene-like mass.
Heart: Cardiac hypertrophy was present, with his heart weighing 636g, significantly higher than the average man's 300–350g.
Other findings: Shriveled testes, severe dehydration, extremely high potassium levels, and acute toxicity, with traces of roughly 20 different drugs.

Who knows if he was drinking heavily while on cycle too.  That was never noted, but it seems like it would account for the condition of his liver.

I don't think so. I couldn't imagine him achieving his conditioning (that is among the best ever) drinking alcohol

I don't know... Ronnie has said many times that Levrone got him to drinking vodka during prep and a good bit the night before prejudging to get into shape.

Maybe he was an alcoholic.  Who knows?  I'm just saying that it is possible that something other than what he was taking contributed to that.  Diuretics usually result in kidney issues.  Alcohol hits the liver.  I'm just posting this as a maybe, not as a fact.

Weird - I very rarely talk about bodybuilding in real life, but literally this morning I was reminiscing with a friend about Munzer. 

Although I've read the same things as everyone else about tumours etc. that thing about ignoring stomach pain for months has always made me wonder if he'd gone to the doctor would he have caught all this and been able to row it back? 

All the recent heart attacks - and what happened to Momo back then - are immediate - slower deaths like this and that Derek fella feel more avoidable

This case reminds me of Dallas Mccarver a bit.

Whatever reason their deaths were attributed to were just one of the many similar problems they both had.

Seems like the plan for this industry is to allow synthol like oils, other injectables, and prosthetics so they stay alive.
