Tonal Exercise Equipment

Is it possible to resale/reuse these things once they have been installed in a home?

https://tonal.com/

Has anyone used one?  The unit down the hall of my condo rental sold and the owner had one of these he left behind.  The new owner doesn't want it and wants to put a murphy bed in the guest bedroom where it is located.  I think monthly subscription service is like $60.  Which is sort of mandatory.  Apparently the thing uses electromagnetic resistance for the "weight" and can make weight adjustments within one second (self spotting) or to track your strength and adjust to the target reps you desire.

I don't see why it couldn't be re-used but I have no specific knowledge about it.

From my understanding they have it pretty permanently mounted into the wall and such.  Once down, the warranty is void and subscription is cancelled.   But then, I don't know.  I looked at the company page and it seems interesting.

If you are able to acquire it, would definitely do it.

The tech on those types of cables has made some pretty good leaps.

I wonder if it could be used offline with no subscription like you can with a Peloton.

From what was said, if you don't have a subscription it is just an overpriced cable machine.  You lose all the benefits like the micro adjustments to the weight, the tracking and profile, the AI "smart" features.  It would be decent to have for the occasional work out when you don't want to leave home.  Or have much time.

Contact the company and inquire about it.

It would have to be securely attached to the wall studs.

Have him let you get the serial #, etc.... Now they will transfer ownership (with no warranties) if the machine and incidentals were paid off in full.

Here's their new policy on used machines - https://knowledge.tonal.com/kb/guide/en/buying-a-used-tonal-QIE4SIJjgr/Steps/4064838 .

Used prices are around $1000, so a decent bit less might be a win.
