I have been to both the Reagan and Nixon libraries.  When I went to the Reagan library years ago it was, very heavy on the fall of communism.  As if he were single-handedly responsible.  And had some of Nancy’s dresses.

I liked the Nixon library much better than the Reagan.  Smaller, way more interesting.  Looked for the pardon; never saw it.

Someday I’d like to get to the Obama library.

I’d die on pile of garbage before I’d set foot in Orange Turd’s library, if he ever has one.  Hopefully his only library will be the one inside a minimum security federal prison.

Triggered TDS-Tard.. LOL   ::)

LOL interesting factoid.

It does feel hostile, I feel oppressed just seeing the pics, like out of a nightmare.

It will be gold colored with a 100 foot golden Trump statue outside. A huge arch before getting to the main building. History's greatest library, much better than the Library of Alexandria :D

I actually try to picture what it would be, and nothing comes to mind. Maybe he’ll have the wisdom to just skip it or claim it’s under renovation like the Kennedy Center. Or turn Mar-A-Lago into a historical structure and sell tickets, which I would visit. I like that building as you round that corner in Palm Beach.

It is a fantastic looking plane don't you think, with superb livery. Much better than the baby blue from the Kennedy era:

It does look nice. Trump even thought to put a wave on the flag on the tail.

Wonderful gift from the Qataris, who also fund the freedom fighters of Gaza.

Ha, I just noticed that. It's the same design as our postage stamps in the 80s, 90s. Great looking plane though.

Trump and Eisenhower have/had the best looking aircraft in my estimation -

.

Eisenhower's Lockheed Constellation.

Trump even mentioned the wave in a comment :D

That plane looks real badass. Could you say very masculine and tough? That one I would prefer for sure. Even the colors look great in that sunlight. Trump is more for glitz and glamour and shiny things, which is fine. My dream car would be matte black or gun black :D

how many people actually use a library anymore.

With the immigration the youth went into them and caused a daily ruckus when as a kid we used to whisper in them. They also thought they were great places to deal drugs from.

I'm surprised it wasn't a Democrat who commissioned the new Air Force One.  The GENx engines one the new airplane are way more fuel efficient than the CF6 engines of the old aircraft.  The CF6 first flew in 1971 on the DC-10, that's compared to the first first GEnx that flew in 2009 on the 787.

I personally think a 787 or 777X would have been a better starting point for the Air Force One.  You don't start with an aircraft that's been discontinued and replacement parts will be difficult.  You start with an aircraft that many airlines are using and replacement parts are plentiful.  It just shows how unsophisticated government thinking is.

In the past the government would have commissioned a middle of the market carbon fiber aircraft that Boeing could easily convert to a passenger jet afterwards.  Think KC-135 and the 707 or 747 and the military cargo plane it's based on.  Government spending used to drive American innovation and industry.  Like the early orders for integrated circuits from NASA rockets that launched a whole semiconductor industry.  I don't see any modern examples of this.

I don't know about the spare parts or what their thinking is but I remember reading getting it ready was extremely expensive. I assume they gutted it first to make sure there was no spyware installed anywhere.

Yes I would imagine everything is scrutinised thoroughly
Readily available spare parts could mean a security risk so I'm willing to bet there's specially made pieces.

For books:
Best selection is Amazon, but I’m sick of the whole planet running on Amazon
Next best is good libraries, but most local libraries not so good, just the big city libraries and you generally need to prove exact residence inside those city limits
Book stores really not so good.

And forget those Good Samaritan exhange boxes in front of peoples’ houses, never anything I want to read.

No time - He watches immeasurable hours of leftist youtube videos the algorithm selects for him.

As far as the library goes - doesn't bother me - all Presidents should have something like this.

I learned English through muscle books. True story. In English class at school I went from worst to best in a hurry :D

Who does these days? Even my book reading has fallen off, used to be a voracious reader, still keep a big book shelf. I do read articles and essays on the net but even that is too slow and boring for the younger generations. All about quick dopamine hits from Tik Toks, YT shorts and IG reels.

There’s a balance. The TikTok muscle clips are great! But so is an 800 page novel on a quiet day.
I really only looked at the photos (and I guess some of the gossip) in the muscle mags. So many of you dudes really dug into the training, nutrition, all of those good for language building but to me those were boring and I doubt the quality of a lot of them.. Back in the day, I did see Muscle Mags in other languages while traveling,

I like Archive.org - https://archive.org/.

Just a huge, decentralized library that you can read with an internet connection. I wish libraries would throw more time and effort into it, and they had an easier time with copywrite laws, etc......
