guy got cited for touching some of the floating bullshit trump had laid down. The peroxide definitely helped. Nice moron move! pour hydrogen peroxide in the pool to kill the algae! that didn't work blame vandals!
Anything to avoid actually doing things correctly and listening to people with more knowledge then himself. Of course that's impossible, he is extremely brilliant according to himself and the best at everything!
Zero evidence, just more bullshit like the garcia case- weaponized cruelty for their fuck-ups.
I wonder what it's like to live in a world where your initial thought is always correct and just winging it is always the best option.
IMO, neither the algae nor the peeling finish on the reflecting pool is Trump's fault. He is not a painter nor is he an expert on algae. This is the fault of the contractor and whoever advised and directed, pouring 12% hydrogen peroxide into the pool. However, if that person was Trump and his directive to kill the algae with peroxide was absolute, it is partly his fault. This is what happens when someone does not listen to the advice of experts in their field.
Before the 2026 repainting effort, the basin featured standard gray concrete, which the National Park Service noted frequently collected algae and turned green. It seems obvious that algae did not get completely eradicated before the reflecting pool was painted/coated and refilled. Given the right climatic conditions, algae blooms can occur very rapidly. Nature always wins!
The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool flows directly into the Potomac River. Unlike swimming pools heavy conventional algicides like chlorine cannot be used. Traditional pool chemicals that kill algae also kill fish, posing an environmental hazard to the local ecosystem.
I seriously doubt vandals had anything to do with this unfortunate event. Given some of the issues this country is facing today, an algae bloom in the reflecting pool is small potatoes. Folks, including Trump, should just get over it and move on.
