I agree that it probably won't unless Mitch McConnell has passed and that is what is being covered up because the GOP doesn't want to lose his vote. The deadline for a special election to replace him is August 3, 2026. It is unclear what the process would be after the deadline. I believe Kentucky law does not allow for the Governor appointing his replacement.
If he passed away and they are hiding it, that would be huge.

Today Mitch McConnell released a statement regarding his health condition to his constituents along with a photo of himself and his wife in which he dressed in street clothes and sitting in what looked like a hospital style chair. Supposedly, he has moved from hospital care to a rehabilitation center. This is pretty common for people whose health is still too fragile for them to go home. My experience with both my mom and later my wife going to rehab centers is that they were released to come home as soon as they were deemed healthy enough to do so. It also depended on what medical coverage allows for. Medicare has  specific requirements. Generally speaking, the shorter the stay the better.

Don't worry.  Lindsey was like when the restaurant sends you a free appetizer because the entree is taking too long.

Is that the photoshop where he is wearing jeans and his shirt in a hospital bed while holding the newspaper so you can clearly see the date? Nobody is dressed like that unless you're ready to leave the hospital.

Mitch is not an ordinary plebeian.
He gets only the best treatment and can stay as long as he wants and eat as much ice cream as he wants.

plebeian /plĭ-bē′ən/
adjective

Of or relating to the common people of ancient Rome.

    "a plebeian magistrate."

Of, belonging to, or characteristic of commoners. Unrefined or coarse in nature or manner; common or vulgar.

When I saw the headline about Senator Lindsey Graham passing away, my brain read "Mitch McConnell."  It took a bit for it to register that it was actually Graham and not McConnell.
