It's a physique competition, right?  The question the judges try to answer is: "Who has the best physique?"

How can you argue that height and stature have nothing to do with physique? 

Muscularity aside, short people tend to have stubby limbs and an unavoidably poor head-size-to-height ratio.  Even the ancients knew how important this was, with Gods and Heroes depicted as being nine heads tall, and average humans about eight heads tall.  (IRL they're usually around 7.5.)  Lumpsford is much more childlike, probably somewhere between six and seven.
