On October 6, 2019, Jimmy Carter fell at his home in Plains, Georgia and hit his forehead on a sharp edge. The wound took 14 stitches to close and left the 95-year-old former president with a black eye.
He had survived worse. In 2015, Carter announced that melanoma had spread to his liver and to four spots on his brain. After radiation and a then-new immunotherapy drug, a scan that December showed the brain lesions were gone. In May 2019, he broke his hip in another fall and needed a replacement.
So when he split his forehead open that October, nobody would have blamed him for resting. Instead, he and his wife Rosalynn traveled to Nashville the next day to kick off their 36th annual build with Habitat for Humanity.
Carter walked on stage with a bandage over his stitched brow and addressed the crowd directly. "I fell down and hit my forehead on a sharp edge and had to go to the hospital... And they took 14 stitches in my forehead and my eye is black, as you've noticed. But I had a number one priority and that was to come to Nashville and build houses."
He had been doing this since 1984, one week a year, every year. Across those decades, he helped build, renovate or repair more than 4,300 homes in 14 countries.
The Nashville project that week put up 21 new homes. Carter said he and Rosalynn would work on the porches, so every single house would have something the two of them built with their own hands.    Contrast that with TRUMP.

There is zero humanity in the trump admin, just money money money.

I seen someone asking if there was any extra food they could spare for a family of 4 on facebook the other day. Really jolts you out of the pleonexic, acquisitive mode of ego quite quick.

Canada has "free" healthcare, isn't food considered a health item?
If I get bored, I'm going to start a gofundme to feed hungry canadians.

Six days after the FDA delayed the rule that makes outbreaks traceable, the company behind a 10,000-case parasite outbreak cut a $1 million check to Trump's super PAC.
This is what a government looks like when nothing holds: the safeguards go, the money flows, and it all comes out the other end of you.
As reported by Wired and confirmed by Fox40, the Independent, and US News, here is the Taylor Farms timeline, in order.
On March 20, 2025, the FDA announced it was pushing back its Food Traceability Rule by 30 months.
That rule, set to take effect this January, would have required companies that grow, pack, and process food to keep detailed records so investigators could trace a contaminated batch back to its source fast.
It is the single tool that turns a mystery outbreak into a named one.
On March 26, 2025, six days later, Taylor Farms donated $1 million to MAGA Inc, the super PAC supporting Trump.
That same year the company gave another $1 million to the Congressional Leadership Fund, which backs House Republicans.
Its CEO, Bruce Taylor, has personally given nearly $1 million more to Republican causes. Taylor Farms also gave $850,000 to an anti-regulation PAC tied to the Koch network.
Now the outbreak. This month the FDA and CDC linked more than 10,000 cases of cyclosporiasis, a severe, weeks-long gastrointestinal illness to Taylor Farms, who recalled iceberg lettuce grown in central Mexico.
Then something strange happened. The FDA announced a lettuce sample had tested positive for the parasite, and days later reversed itself, calling it a "false positive."
Taylor Farms went on to claim in a public statement that the FDA had "apologized to us." An FDA official told reporters the agency had given no such apology.
The company had met privately with White House and FDA officials during the outbreak, and was lobbying them while its customers were sick.
Under Trump, the FDA has been gutted, losing more than 4,500 employees since the start of 2025. The food safety attorney Bill Marler put it plainly after the agency quietly declined to even name the grower behind a separate deadly E. coli outbreak: investigating and reporting outbreaks "is clearly not a priority for this administration. So much for Make America Healthy Again."
A company delayed the rule that would catch it, paid the people who delayed it, and got its lab result walked back mid-outbreak.
Ten thousand people got sick eating salad. The receipts are all dated.
___ TRUMP'S WAR ON SALADS. ::) ::) ::) ::)

Last time I was in Canada several of the guys in the meeting were complaining about the wait to see a GP, they were all saying 3 months was about the right amount of wait time for them.
But hey, some bedpan cleaner on getbig says you can get in to see your Gp in a week, must be true. ::)

If someone spent as much effort to help his fellow snow mexicans as he did trying to convince people on the internet how smart he is, maybe he could make an impact on all the starving, poor people he knows. ::)

President Donald Trump signed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act into law on July 4, 2025, enacting roughly $1 trillion in spending reductions alongside major tax cut extensions that critics and policy analysts characterize as a historic transfer of wealth to the ultra-wealthy. Tax Cuts and Wealth Impact Permanent Tax Cuts: The law extends the 2017 tax cuts and protects small business deductions .Critic Analysis: According to findings cited by the Center for American Progress, the legislation provides multi-millionaires and billionaires with massive tax breaks while worsening economic inequality. Administration Stance: The White House defends the legislation as pro-worker, arguing it boosts take-home pay, eliminates taxes on tips and overtime, and prevents a massive tax hike on middle-class Americans. Medicaid and Health Care Cuts Funding Reductions: The law cuts roughly $1 trillion from Medicaid and Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace programs over a decade to help offset the cost of the tax provisions. Coverage Loss Estimates: Nonpartisan projections from budget groups and analysts estimate that these reductions, combined with new administrative paperwork requirements, will put between 14 million and 16 million people at risk of losing their health insurance. OH THE OUTRAGE. ::) ::) ::) ::)

cry me a river ffs. how many people don't have insurance and can't afford to get the surgeries or tests in the states? or go into fucking crippling debt? lol

The bullshit you guys get on with.

According to the data available the average wait for urgent care (there are walk in clinics everywhere, I have worked many) is 24 hours, the avg wait to see your GP if you have one is 2-7 days. You can see an NP next day as well.

Specialists are different and its based on severity, if you go to emergency (for free) and have a heart attack you will be seen nearly immediately wrt stents, surgery etc.. Are their problems? of course...

Are you guys ever right about anything? I realize all of your information comes from politicians and not experts in their fields as you have an anti-intellectual stance on academia but do a little research once in a while. Retards.

Meanwhile, back in reality

Facts hate you.

You could of used google. I am sure you will find a news article though, that's factual stuff. Read a book or listen to an expert once and a while, you could actually learn something. You are drowning in right wing propaganda

Your first question should have been "what happened" rather than being a dumbass and posting urgent care wait times.

This is why discussion with you is useless, your mind is made up before you even know the story.

And my information is coming from smart, successful people who experienced the system in depth.

Nice deflection, I didn't post urgent care wait times alone, you just can't be honest can you. Do you know what a GP is? I posted multiple data points across the healthcare system. A walk in clinic is a gp that you can walk in if you don't want to go to emerge.

The post you responded to was about gp wait times from a fucking moron and the conversation was circling around getting to see a doctor.

Discussion with me involves facts and making sense which is why you can't do it. Chaos is a moron, everyone on here knows that so there is no point engaging him honestly.

I just posted the actual facts, any "smart, experienced people" are nothing more than anecdotal evidence, who gives a shit? is Kilmar Garcias experience typical of the immigration system of the united states? no, you can't generalize from it. Just like whoever you are making up to suite your narrative is not germane to the conversation.

These brainwashed liberal cucks spent Bidens 4 years crying about Trump. They've been crying about Trump since he announced his first run back in 2015. That is over a decade of daily obsession, crying and whining about 1 man. LMAO!!! Losers!!! ;D ;D

Omg lazy spelling mistake lololololol. I am writing at breakneck pace here to crush tiny tits across multiple threads. You called me a retard long before I said anything to you. Playing the victim when you are wrong is a feminine characteristic. Don't dish it out if you can't take it.

I have embarrassed that fat retard so many times he engages in paralipsis now HAHA. Look up the word so you understand what I am saying as I know you don't know what the fuck I am talking about.

Notice how you didn't respond to my post, because the reasonable thing would be to admit that you don't know anything about the healthcare system and that you were shown to be wrong.

But hey, double down, play the victim, avoid the point of the post and cry like a baby.
