Why has it regressed you think?

Some blame judging standards, I mostly blame lack of talent pool. Why that is I don't know. Nick mostly didn't juice himself into that structure and gut. Of course the drugs can increase the gut but Nick could not do much to improve his standing other than to get really huge. He would have looked like shit even when smaller, possibly more so. Regarding the gut, Chad Nicholls made a thoughtful observation a couple of decades back that it's worse for those with a short torso.

My point. This is just so insane. Never in a million years would I have thought this possible if I'd seen Nick at his first show.

If there are more deaths today it could be that with the internet we are aware of more. And of course more people use all sorts of chems today. To be clear I'm not at all saying drugs don't carry risks. Using drugs can be done more safely today since we are more informed of specific health risks and healh monitoring for example with blood work is more easily available. As you probably agree with me about back in the day juicers didn't even care about blood pressure. Today "serious" juicers often keep nearly daily tabs on their BP.
