What happened to him? He was so into hardcore bodybuilding with his magazine, Musclemedia 2000. Then he took the fitness route, and now he's out of it all together. Last thing I heard was that he was still running Body For Life, now I hear he sold that too. Anybody know what he is up to now?
When he owned EAS, he swore by HMB and Creatine. Then I saw him recently on a talk show, and he said that the only supplement he takes now is a meal replacement. He sure fooled me, because I use to purchase his Betagen product, which consists of HMB and Creatine. Do you guys think he's a sellout?

what really constitutes a sellout?

Starting in one market making millions or transitioning to another market where he made possibly hundreds of millions?

If thats the case then I would be a sellout as well.

he sold out..near the end Dan Duchaine and i used to go back n forth where i'd ask dan why his rants were so weak and he said bill phillips ws editing them ..to change the image of the mag..then then rants stopped.
DAN D made that mag..MADE it..people started buying the mag because of the ask the guru column.

anthony almada and the few other writers came second.

and Bill couldn't shell out a little money to hald dan get a transplant.

so sellout..YES!

yeah dan died of polycistic kidney disease..knew he'd need a transplant soon..

TC ws good..he's the big guy at testorterone mag now..side note

Do you know who the bodybuilder was that was stating his full off reason and competitive stack. i couldn't believe how much crap he was doing. I remember it contained alot of Australian steroids.

anyone here who even bullshits long enough to say you wouldnt have done the same shit is a pure bred liar. he was worth hundreds of millions of dollars. and he wanted to get rid of the steroid dealer image he had. so what, call him a sellout. he is a sellout that made his fortune, gives to charity, supports his city, and create an empire from nothing. yeah you can say duchaine did it. whatever. um, who hired duchaine? who is smarter, the one who writes stuff, or the guy who hires him? duchaine wrote and talked for years and years but nobody cared to listen or pay attention. then he gets into that magazine and he is suddenly the man.

personally, i think bill philips is a punk ass. but i give him credit, he went from being one of the nations biggest steroid dealers to parlaying all that illegal cash into a legit company that made a few hundred million per year

You gotta admit, from an entrepreneurial standpoint, he was genius.

Body for Life in the late 90's and early 2000's was a phenom and got a lot of fatbodies into the gym and eating much healthier...

...and he got out right at the right moment when he knew that fad was fading. And now he will be wealthy for the rest of his days.

I'd like to know also someone guessed right when they had a fan internat chat going, the month after it was published. It was also funny how Craig hated Bill so much, and Dan and they would print his letters he sent them, and keep the feud going.

You can't pay for a kidney, you have to be on the donor's waiting list to have a change of getting one so there wouldn't have been anything Bill could have done. In addition, Dan Duchaine refused to go to a hospital so he was never on it. Dan died because of the disease but he could have had a chance to live had he'd gone to the hospital
