I have posted about the Jefferson deadlift Curl and the controversy around it. It's typically not loaded heavily and some physical therapists say it's proper to strengthen all possible ranges while others think the spine should always be kept "neutral" when loaded.

I used to do these seated good mornings and you necessarily have to bend your back, I went as high as 420. Amazingly an MRI showed no herniations but "possible 'effect' on spinal bone marrow" or something to that effect, translating from Swedish here, which I don't know what it even means and my GP looking at the results couldn't explain either :D

Must be somebody from Getbig who posted the comment on the original IG post:

I`ll pass........I have 3 bulging discs and arthritis in my lower back and neck.

All those years of heavy squatting fucked my back up, and my legs never grew no matter what rep scheme or intensity techniques I tried......thanks Joe Weider!!

I injured my back from squatting heavy so I said fuck that. Switched to machine hack squats (like the one pictured) - 15-20 reps a set- and legs grew like weeds. And back didn't hurt :)

I said that, and it was deleted. I should probably say it again.

The thing that really got me is that later, when he is in the heavier ones, he gets excited and starts wrenching it up and then letting the bar fall and just arresting it with his hunch.  It looks very dangerous.

My deads are quite round.  Used to not be able watch a video of me deadlifting, it looked terrible (feels absolutely fine, though).  I have widened my grip over the years to compensate and keep the back straighter.  Allegedly it's sub optimal for weight but I've found that it suits me.  I suppose if you feel safer, you pull harder.

I think there's a rounded back like in the vid and there's hunching up and forming a leverage point at your mid back and loading everything through that.

Why film that? He looks like ass and the rows are stupid. Why want attention for nothing?

He has to be developmentally challenged in the ability to emulate.  How else could he watch other people doing something, do it so terribly and then look back at the footage and be unable to discern the glaring difference?  We all mess up trying to emulate but to record it, watch over and not see is the true hallmark of the autist.

Like Hank, he combines that blindspot with a bit of ego and thus, he can't easily take the comments.  He got smashed in the deadlift video and spent most of the comments trying to defend himself.

Is it just the upper back that's rounded? I have a bit of kyphosis but my lower back doesn't round when lifting. Some demand everyone must have a perfectly straight back but peoples natural postures differ and it may not be harmful to lift as you're built. Google says there's no such thing as the "right" posture :D

Konstantin Konstantinov had that rounded upper back which some noobs criticized but he was just built like that. Here on that brutal banded deadlift.

Having a wider grip might not be suboptimal for some as far as max loads, it might turn on the quads and actually help, sort of like some have stronger floor deads compared to racks. I have tried snatch grip deads because I've tried everything. Knees get in the way and it may feel awkward but perhaps it could be helpful. Deficit deads and snatch grip deads help if someone has a hitching issue. IME you almost can't hitch when doing these.
