45years old. 262.5 is my current PR. I did do 260x2 some time ago which was probably better and I have pulled 260 for 3 consecutive weeks in a row a few months ago. 270 might be conservative but I don't want to bullshit and I doubt I'm going to put a belt on (I don't think I've ever deadlifted 260 with a belt on). I reckon I'd probably stick if I got to 300. That would do me just fine. Congrats to your partner. I'd gladly take the PR 300 in 10 years.
I've had more more in me 3-4 times in the last few years but something always got in the way. Same with 180kg bench. Many many times been somewhere in the 170s and then didn't do the 180. Not looking like I'll get back to that either. There was one time a year or two ago where I'd had DAA and that one week of elevated levels coincided with me feeling tremendous on a bench day. I benched 170x2 completely easily, somewhat out of the blue. I very much recall that the effect was gone, the next week and the 180 wasn't on the table. From that, I assume testosterone could be very good for me, but I'm still not sure if I ever want to get on that train.
Those are some serious numbers especially considering age and no hormones. I almost never used a belt in training either except for PRs, for big maxes I wanted to make it so bad I just had to put one on LOL. Now I'm thinking not using a belt all those years might have been a big mistake because I have diastasis, meaning my abs have split.
There was a young guy at the gym who didn't look like he had low T but had it tested and it was low. Got on true TRT, a long acting shot administered every 6-8 weeks. In less than a year his deadlift went from 220kg to 290kg, just freaking unbelievable from just getting normal levels, body transformed as well, lean and athletic looking so no fatso. And these were very clean looking conventional pulls that would have passed in comp. OTOH I have a 59 year old friend on the same shot and he just told me he added a mL of test and Deca to it because he wasn't really feeling that tiny TRT.
Speaking of belts, as I was going through my cloud photos I was reminded of this. My friend said, here try this belt that my sponsor started selling and tell me what you think. I put it on and went to try a good morning...
