the modern pro bodybuilding look is all drugs. Thank god for classic where there is some criteria for shape symmetry and condition.

Dirk Lumpsford is a beloved refrigerator dwarf. Imagine if one of the normal sized humans carried him off stage during his posing and dumped him upside down into a garbage can as a prank.

They need Shaq to present his trophy.

Not trying to be contrarian and argumentative, but the fella in the first pic is just as much all drugs. He might be on more drugs than the open pros.

Classic has a height/weight cap, I would say that's the main difference. A weight cap often ensures guys diet down more which obviously enhances cuts.

I don't think classic has more emphasis on symmetry per se, a certain aesthetic maybe. Symmetry is largely genetic also. If you don't have the right aesthetic lines genetically you're going nowhere in classic. The classic look can't really be trained for. You could train some vacuums maybe.

IMHO.

the difference is the conditioning,,, Derek looks 6-8 weeks away from real contest shape, thats two weeks out FFS

Ryan is also 2 weeks out in the first pic

Its night and day, when Derek was 212 class he had zero striations in his pecs and delts
