Flex Magazine April of 1997 , they do a free word association with Flex and they tell him to say the first thing he thinks of

" Pual Dillet ........big!
Nasser El Sonbaty......overrated
Kevin Levrone......way fucking overrated ."

what was his problem with Kevin?

Flex was supposed to win the 1991 USA's.....he got beat by and unkown named Mike Mattarazzo. Flex was then supposed to easily win the 1991 Nationals.......he got wiped out by a virtual unkown named Kevin Levrone.


So Flex and Kevin were very competitive as pros.  Flex was beat in three straight contests by Levrone in 95-96. The 1995 Olympia, the 1996 Arnold Classic, and the 1996 Olympia.

So Flex was just down about getting beat over and over by a guy that he had a rivalry with. Flex was supposed to be the heir apparent after Dorians reign. But he couldnt get past Levrone on many occasions.

Flex had flat pecs, and his delts allthough round...never got striated or dry.  Same with his hams and glutes.  His muscles never had density to them.  He was a pumper, and his muscles seemed made out of air.
Levrone would go balls out for 6 months with weight flex could only dream of.  And his density could beat flex quite often.

Flex has a nice physique, but so did Kevin. I enjoyed having them both compete, too bad they still don't.  :'(   Not many current pros look as great as they did.

Actually Flex had straitions in his his delts, especially in 92, 93, where he also had striated glutes those years as well.

Flex was pissed that Kev beat him at the 1996 Arnold, it could have gone either way. Kev was a lot more conditioned that Flex. Flex was fuller than usual, and his back detail tore Kev's apart.

One of the reaosn why Flex was so hungry for the 1997 Arnold, and look where Kev ended up at the 97 Arnold.

It would have been cool had Flex won the 96 Arnold, and he would been a 5 time Arnold winner

Kevin is a bodybuilding God..best bodybuilder that didnt win a MrO...I think he shoul dof beaten Yates that one year he got second..i was SO MAD..

haha I'll tell you what Flex's beef was with Mr. Levrone

HE RESENTED HIM BECAUSE HE KNEW KEVIN WAS BETTER

lucky for Flex the judges don't mind synthol injections so that allowed him to beat Kev in the late 90's

any pros physique i can choose to look like it would be leverone, but unfortunately when you see his back compared to other top pros u can see why he never won a sandow.

flex wheeler was the most overrated bodybuilder in the history of bodybuilding.he merely won the arnold classic because of his hype.flex wheeler is one of the smallest and the worst looking bodybuilder ever.how the hell he won 4 arnold titles is beyond me...wheeler SUCKS

on the other hand big kevin levrone was truly the most amazing bodybuilder ever.his delts and arms were unreal...levrone was one hell of a striated beast with a small waistline...a true bodybuilder.i think so kevin levrone was at his biggest from 1996 to 1999..during these years i think levrone was one of the biggest bodybuilders ever.damn  he looked like a fuckin monster during these years..huge.he also looked huge during the olympia 1995 but was beyond huge during 1996-1999.i wish he also makes a comeback.BIG KEVIN LEVRONE RULZ
