Here is what I believe, to take the Olympia title of a existing Mr Olympia, you cant be as good , you have to be so much better that the judges have no choice but to make that call, but to be better than the existing Mr Olympia is so hard to do !! If you look at the Olympia history this believe is pretty much proven , Most new Mr Olympia titles are gained by retirement of the existing Mr Olympia , thus making near impossible for Jay to take it of Ronnie(this is also considering Ronnie comes in top shape this year)that is not to say Jay wouldn't be a worthy Mr Olympia , as he would, but history states that Ronnie needs to retire first because Jay is not better than Ronnie , he is as good , but not so much better that the judges have to make that call !!!

I wouldn't be surprised if Dexter/Melvin wins the next one (if they go in the smaller, more aesthetic vein) otherwise, I bet Branch/Cutler/Gunter will win it (if the go for the freaky/huge).


At this point though, any change would be good.

Out of the current crop, not one is worthy of the tittle after Ronnie retires.  Unless someone comes out of nowhere, who can set a new standard, they should have an "interim" Mr. O....

Fellas think about this for a moment.

First off Dex will never ever ever be Mr. Olympia... EVER... Seriously you'd have to be insane to think otherwise...

Second and most importantly the last 3 Olympia Winners were head and shoulders above the comp- Haney Changed the game, as did Dorian and Ronnie completely set a new watermark. The thing about Jay is this: In 06 will he display an even more improved package then 05? Now before you answer consider this new and improved package will have to vastly surpass the 06 Ronnie and (probably) even if he does he wont win anyway. So if Ronnie retires after this year and Jay keeps improving he is the obvious heir aparent.

The new Mr. Olympia is going to have to set a new standard. Mass conditioning and of course Being White and marketable doesent hurt. With Jay doing one contest a year and steadily improving appearence after appearence there is no doubt in my mind the crown is his once Ronnie steps aside.

PS- Victor Martinez with his subpar conditioning and two torn quads will never do it. From the back maybe... Once he turns to the front no fucking shot.
