I've actually been consistenly in the gym for the last 10-12 weeks, however, my diet has been eating anything I pretty much want, which often consists of pizza...Ha ha! In four week, I start endurance training again, which means I'll be going back down to 185...

I disagree that laynes used steroids tho...........its obvious hed be better than that, if he had.

You'd be surprised. I've seen guys on HEAVY gear that look far worse than Norton. Sad but true...

Obviously MindSpin has better genetics and at his peak would have made Layne look like a Hurricane Katrina victim, but I am saying that right now, Layne would beat him in a contest. After all, Mindspin is retired and enjoying his middle age life. He is obviously very intelligent and a risk-taker and he deserves to settle down and enjoy life. But you can't have your cake and eat it too.

mindspin im curious.....you're 33 and have been 'retired' for 10 years....that means you stopped AAS and serious training at 23. at what age did you start?

23 seems to be the minimum age someone should consider starting AAS, IMO, not the age at which they quit.

No. I did my first show, the NPC Amateur Grand Prix Teen division clean. I was 18 and competed at a brutally huge 170. I took 2nd to a 19 year old who was juiced to the gills. In fact, I was the only natural guy in the show.

I started at 20 yrs old and stopped at 23. I was on and off for three years.

Well, like I said, I’ve been hitting it pretty hard for the last 3 months and muscle seems to have very good memory. If I slack in my training, I very quickly go down to about 190-195 with about 14% BF.

I say my genetics suck because I have a very hard time putting on muscle, and I have fragile joints. It’s a bad combo because if I train hard and heavy for more than a few weeks everything starts hurting. Add to that slow recovery capabilities and weak response to gear. So, even if I had stuck with it, I would have never become a 270lb monster…

And no, I don’t hate Norton…don’t even know the guy. But, while he has improved, he does suck and I’m willing to bet he is not totally clean. Anyone have pics of him in the off season?

I like the transitions in GetBig - from a Layne Norton Thread to a Mindspin thread. Its like shape shifting.

As far as Yemeni's physiques goes, its in the top 1% of all Americans. Couple that with running a business, having a family and whatever else he does in his spare time, and I have one word to describe people like him - "balanced".

Good job Mindspin.

As for Layne Norton, maybe more in the quads but heck, I don't think the guy is all that bad...

Thanks - Keep in mind I have not done any overhead pressing in 10 years (shoulder are fooked) and I have not trained biceps (other than indirect work from back) in five months thanks to another weird injury in my left biceps...

Keep in mind that just a few months ago I was weighing a relatively lean 185, becasue I ran a marathon. If I don't train and continue to eat like shit...I look like total shit.
