I would say that given his mistreatment of Lou in Pumping Iron.  What kind of man feels the need to do something like that to a person with a disability and an overbearing father who he was obviously emotionally dependent on?

It's sad people look at Arnold in Pumping Iron and consider that to be confidence.  It's just evidence that most people don't know what true confidence really means.

Are you wanting to know how tall Arnold was when he was competing or how tall he is now at age 59?  The reason I ask is that there is a lot of corroborating evidence that proves Arnold to be at least 6'1 and a half in his competitive days.  Rounding up to 6'2 would only make sense. 

Now, at his current age, a little bone loss is possible making him a tad shorter than he was in his 20's.  Even with that said there's no way he's 5'11.   Anyone who says that is just speculating because there is no evidence to back it up.

Now, can we finally put this to bed?  What difference does it make?  Does it make you feel better about yourself to think that Arnold is insecure about something?  Arnold is the King of bodybuilding, he is one of the most famous actors/action stars in the world, he has more money than he could ever spend, and he's the Governor of frickin' California.  I know I don't measure up to that list of accomplishments.  But why not just be happy for him and focus on your own life.  The fact that you give a shit about how tall he is only illustrates the power and influence he has.  It gives the impression that you are hating  on him which is incredibly unattractive.

What would be the benefit of him lying about his height?  He's definitely 6 or above.  No big deal.  And the fact that he's "a few inches" taller than Ronnie would translate easily to 6 feet or slightly more.

Hey man, if Lou couldn't stand the heat, he shouldn't have entered the kitchen.  Arnold was the definition of FIERCE competitor.  Free speech was used wisely by Arnold;  Lou could have came back with something clever but just fell for it and took it.  Why didn't Serge Nubret have a problem with it?  He handled Arnold quite nicely in the locker room.

Man, I hope you never compete brother.  It's alot more harsh then you think it is.  It's just just a physique competition, there's trash talking, and mind games going on all over the place.  Just because you look great doesn't mean you'll do well.  You have to be there mentally as well, or you'll fail. 

Arnold had balls to say what he said when he said it and HOW he wanted to say it.  That's why he's a movie star, that's why he was a champion bodybuilder, and that's why he's running an entire state - all things he CONFIDENTLY said he'd do.

Maybe he was 6'-1" when he was younger. I am about 6'-1" (186cm) and when I met him he was about 1.5 inches shorter than me. My guess is he's about 5'-11". He was definitely under 6'-1".

You can't gauge someone's height by standing next to them and eyeballing it yourself.  I'm respectfully calling BS on your 5'11 estimate.

Even if we took 5'11 at face value and said that Arnold is now 5'11, how the hell did he lose 2 to 3 inches in height over the last 30 years?  Is there any precedent for that.  What the hell caused him to, shrink, for lack of a better term.  This doesn't make any sense at all.

Matt, Mike Katz owns my gym. He is a legit 6'1". In every picture I have seen with he and Arnold the oak is a smidge taller. I bet Arnold was about 6'1.5" in his day.

This sounds about right. 19 years ago, I worked as a trainer in a NYC health club where Arnold would occasionally train. I'm 6'3", and had Arnold by about an inch.

I also saw him step on a high quality scale. At the time he weighed 212.

Ronnie coleman isn't 5'11". He's actually round 5'9". IFBB fudges their weights and heights to make them seem more impressive. Gunter isn't 6'2" either!

I...Stood right next to Arnold. I am 6 foot even barefoot. I was wearing shoes and Arnold was too. He was 2 to 3 inches bigger than me. He was not wearing any lifts ( who came up with that one ) So, 6-2 or taller is a fact !!!!!

I didn't get that close. But I saw him from 10 yards or so in New York City once [pre-Governator], walking down the street surrounded by a phalanx of bodyguards - whom he stood nearly a full head above. 6' 2" sounds dead on the money to me.
