The expo was nice but small. Couldnt make the evening show. They've got 2 yrs to get it straight.
There are a lot of good points here and on Shawn's site.
1. Get the high profile fitness and figure girls in CO next yr.
2. CO can work. People are big on fitness and outdoors and are willing to spend sports dollars. One price should cover the pre and evening shows. Make it affordable, something like $39.95
3. Maybe promote the contest at 24 fitness, better bodies and balls 8 wks out via TV monitors in the gyms and some posters. Have fitness and figure girls do the rounds 3-4 days out. Cover their hotel and expenses plus fees instead of the car. I always see some company in Denver giving away a Mercedes on the 16th St Mall. That's old news!
4. Get the fit and fig girls on the mall. Broncos and Nuggets do it with their cheerleaders all the time. DJ, Tanji, Medina, Brandt and others smoke cheerleaders. Let the non-bbing crowd meet them in person. BBing men wont work on the mall with the general population. Give s##t away! You got 28K from the car
5. Work on package travel deals to get people in. $300-$400 for 3days/2nights can work from my including round trip trans from airport. Dinning and entertainment are all in downtown Denver
6. Since the stage portion of bbing isnt a sport, except for the fitness girls, get some theatre experts to give ideas on how to spice of the show a bit. The comedian thing wont work that's what comedy works is for. UFC guys could give pointers. Stay away from wrestling. They've been down that road before.
Anyway.. I loved the expo. Cant wait for next year. BBing needs 5-6 top shows per yr.
I'm not a big fan of Denver but I'm a grad student so I make it work. I just dont see another city. GNC tried New Orleans and HotLanta and lost.
Maybe the center was a bit big for the first time out. But you dont know unless you try.
